None of tellers at any stores have been trained how to do it. They just give weird look and activate normal card machine, which can tap on though.

I stood now at Centurion lifestyle centre PnP, teller waited 20 min for help. She dont understand masterpass!

I ask can I use FNB (scan to pay)! And then I say “masterpass”, as plan B!
When I say can I use scan to pay, they look at me and activate the machine for tap to pay. Sometimes telling them mobile payment and qr code works but most times it doesn't...

This afternoon, they assumed I wanted to swipe my card. So I said no, masterpass!

Then the wrong QR code came up, and the gave up. Waited for a manager to come help

:(

Slightly off topic... Anyone with kids younger than 18 with Fnby accounts and debit cards? I know this is linked to parents bank account and online banking, but is there a way for the kid to keep track of their own account? A separate online bank and login option or something similar perhaps?

Its funny. They did have individual access to their other fnb accounts prior to the signup of fnby accounts. Now they dont.

They still have access to their capitec n absa mega u accounts

Interesting.

May I ask why your kids have so many accounts?

Any extra benefit to paying with FNB card at Istore?
Other than smart spend, I do not know.

Or are you referring to this:

iStore and FNB now give you the option of buying your Apple product with a reduced interest rate payment plan. Your qualifying FNB credit card will be charged for the full amount, after which the reduced monthly installments will be applied. Then after 12 or 24 months you’ll have the choice to trade in your new product, which will offset your outstanding instalments and allow you to purchase a new product.

Apparently, the interest rate is quite competitive.

The interest rate is the same as prime. So it's 7% at the moment which is not bad if you don't want to pay cash for your Apple devices. You always have two options in terms of the months of payment. I always take the shortest one.

Just a heads up everyone. I've tried Spot money now. First of all R 1000 per day top up limit. Secondly, they're asking ridiculous paperwork when I just wanted to withdraw to my own account.

Just wanted to test the process end to end and they came up with a form that needs to be notarized. Are they mad?

Hope you all have had a better experience.

They upgraded their system a bit (which aint a bad thing at all). Think they might go the same route as "Slide".
