A 50 minute phone call later, and I have managed to change to Premier. It was painful in the sense that FNB chose 2 awkward times to call me last week (one while driving, the other while in Checkers) - can't really blame them. The transition was much smoother than last time, because they didn't put me on Private by mistake.

Doing it over the phone is defs the way to go, but I wish they could work on the "digital" part of the "best digital bank". There should be no need for 50 minute phone calls :|

I did try do the upgrade thing via the app, but it declined me :D

Yeah but I will complain when ebucks payout comes through. I recall someone in this thread saying that's what they did. It's risky, but YOLO. As for gold balances, my gold fusion acc number doesn't change. So everything around that is much the same. I think she did offer a higher credit facility but I kept it the same. I cancelled my gold CC when I moved to Gold Fusion, so I'm not sure how that would work - I pretty much had to apply for a new premier CC. I imagine that it would just be a new card but same account number though.

No, nothing needed to be vetted or adjusted. All limits and interest rates remained the same as per my request. They did offer to increase limits but I declined.

You do have the option to submit the credit account for a review on the interest rate, but she said that there's a chance it can go up or down, so I just left it as is.
thats odd.....mines was like a new process, new limit and interest rate and even had to accept a credit check which affects your credit score:(

No place to capture it. Also majority of the pamphlet specials are in store only. Its been my biggest gripe with sixty60 service.
Checkers do not offer their in-store specials on the app, unless they are running a few month-end specials on the app. With that being said it makes no point for me to use the service....unless one is desperate or wants to pay full price for an item that is on promo in store.

Hmm... I opted to do it over the phone though, and was very clear that it was just a ln upgrade and I didn't want anything changed. Did you do it in the app?

I did it over the phone and asked why a credit check was needed even though it was an upgrade....and was told that is the process for a credit card:(

If they're changing your limit, they'll want another credit check.

EDIT: Remember, if it was a week since they last checked, you could have gotten new credit facilities elsewhere in that time (or gotten a default judgement taken against you, gone into debt review, sequestration or any other financial event that affected your credit worthiness). That changes your affordability, and FNB doesn't want to risk a reckless lending finding.

but I didn't want a change in my credit limit, I asked for it to remain the same and she gave me the oh all credit processed need to be re-done. It's still the same....however they went ahead with a credit check

On Gold (now Aspire) and will move to Premier after allocation day. I have credit card and debit card (Gold still). Which card do I use now and in future to buy petrol. Is it ok yet to use credit card for petrol? A year or two ago on this thread there was talk that on credit card they charge you interest from the moment you fill up on petrol?

No, I think this was continuously and wrongly said, there was an article about the change to no interest on credit cards for petrol back in 2011 so hasn't been the case for a while

You can use cc or fusion card, no interest charged

No idea what Fusion means. LOL.
Will need to find out soon by the time I apply for the Premier card.

I assume there are ebuck benefits to a Fusion account/card. Any negatives?
And erm...what exactly IS Fusion?

Fusion is overdraft, but interest free on swipes for 30 days. You get points just having fusion account

Doing some homework on Premier account and many of the new options and terms I am not clued up on.
Some questions:
1. Whats the total monthly cost of a Premier account if you take it with all the bells and whistles - which I assume would be with credit card and with Fusion.
2. VCC. Where do I use this and how? I saw some posts of people trying to use it as a debit order card. And then I assume there's also option to use in store when paying for goods/services. Which stores support the VCC? I saw some posts here that it's not even working for many?
3. Smart budget ebucks points: I just set up two budget and check it once a month. As easy as that?
4. FNB Pay ebucks points: What's this and how does it differ from VCC?
5. Six transactions on App to get points: Even inter account transfers?
6. Our house was just converted to pay as you go electricity. City of CT. What's the best way to buy electricity for ebucks purposes?
7.Manage your property (once a quarter) on Home tab in App to score EB points: What is understood here? Would just view/visit qualify as "manage"?

Thx in advance.
