Huh? Someone doing a credit check on you affects your credit score? Explain.

Too many credit checks can apparently negatively affect your score, I'm assuming that's if there are multiple checks within a short time, means you are applying for to much credit or I don't know.

Even getting short term insurance quotes results in credit checks.

I currently have a Gold debit card with overdraft (koz years ago ebucks offered extra points for this).... so this would be the same thing just another fancy name?

An overdraft is more like a traditional loan and hence less interest and more flexibility, accessing credit via negatively withdrawing on your Fusion account results in credit card type interest and repayment terms. If you need a large loan facility from time to time don't use your Fusion account, have a cheque account with overdraft.

Doing some homework on Premier account and many of the new options and terms I am not clued up on.
Some questions:
1. Whats the total monthly cost of a Premier account if you take it with all the bells and whistles - which I assume would be with credit card and with Fusion.

2. VCC. Where do I use this and how? I saw some posts of people trying to use it as a debit order card. And then I assume there's also option to use in store when paying for goods/services. Which stores support the VCC? I saw some posts here that it's not even working for many?

VCC works as a usual card but without having the physical card so it doesn't work at places where you can only swipe.
It works for any online purchases since you have a normal card number and CVV (Which changes every hour)

3. Smart budget ebucks points: I just set up two budget and check it once a month. As easy as that?

4. FNB Pay ebucks points: What's this and how does it differ from VCC?

VCC is a virtual card, FNB pay is a digital payment service (Scan to pay which works like and works with SnapScan + Tap to pay which is the same as tapping your card)
VCC also works with FNBPay so you go to the app > cards > select your VCC and then use that to pay using FNB Pay

5. Six transactions on App to get points: Even inter account transfers?

6. Our house was just converted to pay as you go electricity. City of CT. What's the best way to buy electricity for ebucks purposes?

Some people get away with this at Checkers.
I just purchase using service like SnapScan since I already max my Checkers and Clicks spend

7.Manage your property (once a quarter) on Home tab in App to score EB points: What is understood here? Would just view/visit qualify as "manage"?

Not sure about this but there are many small things in Nav > Home that you can change to be safe
(Features, energy saving measures etc.)

Checkers do not offer their in-store specials on the app, unless they are running a few month-end specials on the app. With that being said it makes no point for me to use the service....unless one is desperate or wants to pay full price for an item that is on promo in store.

OK so pls clear up the fusion thing as I don't quite understand.. Or maybe I do lol.. If I take a seperate premier cheque card and premier cc it's classified as the premier bundle(with no overdraft.. Thus I won't get the points on ebucks) if I take the fusion it's one card that acts as a cheque card and credit card combined(and I get a 1000 points)

Just get the fusion and the credit card. Then don't use the credit facility on the cheque card.

There was mention of the petrocards being charged for in the new rules, I see in my statement for 2 July zero fees (and yes I did use my petrocard during June). Maybe next month they hit us?

Premier Fusion bundle is R219 vs R229 traditional premier bundle. I have a fusion bundle (fusion account + credit card) for R219.

Upgraded from Gold to Fusion in May and can confirm the cheaper bundle price. Received my new Fusion card a couple of days later.

The frustrating part is my Credit Card not being delivered. Two weeks ago, my card was apparently with couriers and they contact me...still waiting...

Phoned in this morning, after being passed around and now one able to check for me, the last lady told me there is a backorder of Credit Cards for clients that signed up in May and June?! I put the phone down....so frustrating

but I didn't want a change in my credit limit, I asked for it to remain the same and she gave me the oh all credit processed need to be re-done. It's still the same....however they went ahead with a credit check

Finally I can stop using my overdraft. what a pain. Caused me to drop to level 4 about 6 times when I thought I had used overdraft but hadn't.

Now to investigate this Fusion stuff. Been avoiding it for some years, but seems its the way.


Anyone have a fool proof way to migrate from Premier bundle to Fusion with CC?

If you want to keep an Islamic account you cannot get a Fusion account

If you want to keep an Islamic account you cannot get a Fusion account

i only took islamic to get the points

1. There is Fusion or Cheque. Premier, Aspire, Private can be either Fusion or Cheque, with or without a CC. Fusion gets you extra points. Ultimately what's best is really up to you and your situation.
2. On Fusion, the OD helps with points (I think)
3. You can get a Premier Fusion + CC bundle for the same price as Premier Fusion. Unsure of extra card costs as I ride solo.
4. That's fine
5. Free Kauai staying on Premier
6. R219 for Premier Fusion + CC combo.
