Tips to Boost your eBucks - 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025

Anyone know if buying an iPhone from the FNB Partner iStore will include the iCare Plus package?

I see it comes for free with a purchase of a phone on the iStore site, but no mention is made on the FNB Partner iStore site.
For those curious - it did come with the R1999 iCare Plus package even though the FNB Connect store doesn't advertise it.

A day later the iStore emailed me saying as such and giving me a link to register.

Sweet.

I paid a city of Cape Town bill a couple of days ago without any issues.
I paid a portion of the bill (R1501) using the bill feature and then the rest at Clicks or Checkers.

Thanks I tried again and it worked. Seems like there was an issue at the time when I was trying, which has since been resolved.

BTW, there is no option to select which account or card to use to make payment....strange.

Can someone please explain how the 40% off device works on Premier?
Using the iPad 10th gen for R7999 as the example, bought on credit card and being on level 5 every month, how much will the total cost be monthly and in total once paid off and what portion of the cost will be interest?

With the current prime+2, the interest will be very close to 15% of the total sum, does not matter the amount.
so 8000*1.15 is your total sum. 0.15*8000 is your interest part. 8000*1.15/24 is your installment on which you can earn ebucks. Unless there are fees involved that I dont know about.

You won't earn eBucks on the interest. So in the example above, it's more like R8000/24(*40% for Premier) is the monthly amount that will be rewarded in eBucks. The interest is what FNB scores from us if purchased on CC. The only way around having to pay interest is using a Fusion card though no one seems to be quite sure will it work like we think it will or is there some catch.

@airborne someone did a whole spreadsheet on the eBucks whatsapp group which they shared on google drive.

asked and answered i'm sure but let me ask again - if you pay your rates via the clicks app (using their easypay integration), does it count towards clicks spend?

Yes, been doing this for months now and is my only clicks spend, and i get the full 4500 ebucks for it

I've just bought an iPhone at the FNB Partner Store. I am level 5 and Private Wealth which means I get 100% back in ebucks.

This is just my experience for those interested.

Note that you cannot go to iStore.co.za, it has to be the FNB Partner store on the FNB app. You can buy any device e.g. iPad, iPhone etc.

I added the phone to my cart and checked out. At this point I had the option to opt into the ebucks offer. I said that I do.

I actually did a part pay in ebucks and left R24000 to go off my card. This is the max benefit you'd get @R1000 ebucks for 24 months.

I was a bit worried that I part paid, but all was good.

I used my virtual card. The amount came off as a normal credit card transaction.

The phone somehow got delivered the next day! :)

I did get an email from the iStore offering me the R1999 Extra Care package for free, even though the FNB Partner Store didn't mention it.

3 days later I got an email saying that the R24000 had been moved to budget over 24 months. My overall card credit limit decreased by R24000.

I am assuming that in August I'll get a debit on my current account for R1000 (plus interest at prime + 2%). This will be offset against R1000 in ebucks that I'll be given.

R24000 over 24 months at prime+2% means about R3600 in interest (if memory recalls). Which means that a R24000 phone will cost me R3600. Probably less, as interest rates are set to decrease over this period.

Well worth it in my opinion. Relatively painless.

This sounds like a cash deal? If I look at the offers, it's all 24/36 month offers?

@Speedster

I saw you bought an M3 Air on the budget scheme, and am just wondering about buying something over the R24k threshold. So if it's like R30k, do you pay R6k up front and the other R24k goes onto budget or how does it work?

I'm going to replace my wife's 2017 Pro and tbf an M1 Air would do her, but I'm thinking of maximising the freebie limit so perhaps get a M3 and am just wondering how that would play out?

That's a good question. I assumed the full amount goes to budget but will need to confirm that once the move to budget has taken place. At the moment it's still under pending. Took delivery last night - it's a joy to work with coming from a 2016 i5.
Just to follow up on this. The full amount was moved to budget.

I noticed a Bank Your Cash (BYC) transaction on my Fusion account. Can anyone shed light on what happened to the money they deducted from my account?
Goes into your savings account.
