Tips to Boost your eBucks - 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025

Hi guys. My iPhone is on its last legs and I’m thinking of trading it in and buying another one cash, for the 15% back in eBucks at iStore. Will the reduced price from the trade in affect the 15% back, in light of bullet point 4? Has anyone done a trade in and gotten their 15% back?

You get 15% off the transaction value.

So yes the trade-in would affect that.

Usually if it’s the first few days of the new month I need to put my phone into Flight Mode for a minute or tow and then turn it back on and then it works.

I can only assume it’s something like my data bundle not “activating” because I don’t go anywhere.
I called FNB and it turns out they now give whatsapp bundles when you recharge. The the data I saw was actually just whatsapp data available, and I needed to recharge with normal data. Don't know why they don't separate the two

Yeah this changed with the rules but still I have an automatic data bundle every month and have had this issue for ages.

It's like the data bundle goes to sleep if I don't use the mobile data for X number of days and FNB is one of the few who doesn't have out-of-bundle shark issues so it doesn't take off your airtime which is a good thing.

Re Netflix/Ebucks subscription. I ran into issues twice now when myself / wife traveled, with my Netflix sub. Said something abt my household blah blah. Does anyone know if there’s a cap on the Netflix subscription that gets the ebucks back? Is anyone going over the 199 amount of the super deluxe one.

You need to live together.

Hi. Thanks. But Not sure what that’s got to do with my question. Im asking if someone has experience paying more than the 199?
159+99 is greater than that. Would I get the ebucks back? Or do I need to be the monkey that tests this when I travel next?
If one of you is travelling then the person being prompted just needs to choose the option to tell them that and then the account holder gets sent a code, so no need to take out two subs?

I'm getting the same messages lately but they think that my TV and PC are the travelling parties (or not part of the household) because Netflix gets used more away from home off my Wi-Fi than it does at home on my Wi-Fi.

Sorry not what you're asking but it seems kind of related

Anyone want to swap their Kauai (R120 or R100) voucher for a Wimpy voucher?

Just noticed that wimpy has a kids benefit like Kauai, I know Kauai is also a small smoothie, does anyone know what the wimpy kids does or is limited to? App suggests it's the same.

Hi, does anyone send/receive forex regularly and earn ebucks on the transactions? I'd like to figure out how to earn these ebucks if anyone would share the process.

The PDF says:

Sending and receiving Global Payments in foreign currency via online or the FNB BankingApp will earn you up to 50% back in eBucks* on transaction charges. Did you know? If you receive funds on a regular basis, you can provide FNB with direct authorisation to convert these funds on your behalf at a competitive rate immediately. This is known as a standing instruction and will earn you eBucks.

What exactly is your question? You get eBucks back on the forex fee charged by FNB

I've never received ebucks on the forex fee. You need a standing instruction, so I wondered if anyone had actioned one of those?

I've used forex a couple of times and always got the eB, with no standing instruction. Not sure why you didn't.

Has anyone received their monthly eBucks after purchasing from Hirsch's, using their Fusion account, and opting in for the device benefit during checkout?

I want to buy a washing machine from Hirschs , but want to be sure what I will get my monthly eBucks.
