When was the last time you updated your video drivers?
If you're seeing weird or corrupted graphics then it's an almost sure sign of a video driver issue.
The demo may have been using a slightly different technique for the effects from the full version and your video card drivers don't know how to handle it.

95% of the time it's the game using a video driver feature which is supposed to work but the video driver has a buggy implementation.
The same thing happens with a game I use - people update to a new game version but they have old drivers that don't support the new features. Weird colors, lockups, etc.

ok. if people are still having issues with the game they can lookie into this post, which is pasted below as well :

Problems with installation
Make sure you check the disks for scratches. Faulty disks can be returned for replacements.

Update the firmware on your optical drive.

Remove all files from your Temp directories ([drive letter]\Temp, Windows\Temp, and \documents and settings\[your username]\local settings\Temp), do a fresh boot on your machine, turn off all programs, including anti-virus software and background processes, and try to install again.

Failure to start (Graphics engine could not be initialized)
TQ does not support integrated graphics or the GeForce MX series of cards.

We are investigating problems recognizing ATI cards (X300, X700, X800, etc.). If you are using one of these cards and are able to start the game, please let us know what driver version you are using. (I use a mobility X300 and the 6.14.10.6483 drivers)

Doing a complete removal of the graphics driver (using a tool from the chipset manufacturer), then updating to the latest drivers and re-booting your machine has worked for some people.

Uninstalling and re-installing TQ has worked for some people.

For some people, the Omega drivers work and the Catalyst drivers do not.

Crashes on machines with RealTEK audio
We are investigating this problem.

In the meantime, disabling hardware sound acceleration may work. http://vnboards.ign.com/titan_quest_tech_support/b23097/97552744/p1/?0

Disabling sound from the Options menu may temporarily work.

SecuROM error messages and frequent crashes at seemingly random times
Make sure you do not have any emulation tools or processes open, even in the background. Here is a list of programs that may cause problems:
Alcohol 120%, Blind Write, Daemon Tools, Game Jack, CloneCD, Game Jackal, Xoom Game Clone, CD Space, Virtual 7 CD, Fantom CD, Anti Blacxx and certain versions of Nero (that create virtual drives).

You should not have to remove these programs, just make sure there are no active processes running.

This post may also help: http://forums.eu.atari.com/showpost.php?p=704194&postcount=3

Lag over LAN
Make sure TQ has all privileges in your firewall settings.

Turning off Zone Alarm has fixed the problem for some people.

Lag over Internet and failure to connect
There are a number of optimizations for this going into the patch.

Sharing a cd-key or using a cd-key downloaded off the internet will prevent connection to other players over the internet.

If you are behind a router, update the firmware for your router.

If you want to open up or forward ports, these are the ports that TQ uses:
42,800
49,152 – 49,172
49,272 – 49,292

Problems using voice chat (TeamSpeak, Ventrilo, Xfire)
This is a known issue. It will not be addressed in the first patch. It is on our list for future patches.

We recommend that you turn off all other programs when running TQ for best results.

Mouse jerkiness and/or lack of cursor
Make sure you are not running any programs in the background that alter the output of your mouse (accelerators, etc.). Again, we recommend not running any other programs while playing TQ. This may require you to remove programs from your system tray and/or process list.

Some people have reported that running in Windowed mode fixes this.

Textures become corrupted/disappear
We are investigating this.

Make sure you have up-to-date drivers (see above notes).

Make sure your video card is not overheating.

Cannot continue due to character corruption
This is a side-effect of crashes. Eliminating the crashes will eliminate character corruption.

There will be an auto-backup feature in the patch.

Some people have reported that deleting the "fow" folder in the saved game directory for the character will fix this.

Some people have reported that deleting the .que files will fix this, but it will erase all of your quest data.

Character missing after re-install/transfer
Transferring characters between installations with different cd-keys is not supported.

Make sure you have all of the files in the correct directories.

Problems with performance/crashing on dual-core machines
We are investigating this.

We will hopefully have an update later today about the timing for the patch release.

A big "thank you" to everyone who has taken the time to post their specs and details, and especially to those who have found workarounds and taken the time to document them. We apologize for any difficulties you may be having and ask that you continue to let us know in as much detail as possible what the behaviors are and what hardware/software/drivers you are running.

And please, if something fixes the problems you are having, please come back to the forums and let people know.

If you have an issue that has not been addressed or continue to have issues, please let us know that as well.

Thank you for your time and patience.

Best,
Eyejinx.

Work on the 2nd patch to sort out remaining technical issues is on the way :

Greetings:
Just wanted to give people an update on where things are. Work on the second patch is underway; we'll get you patch notes soon. Gameplay tweaks (balancing characters/skills/etc.) are not a priority item for this patch; we're focused on technical issues people are having with the game and the editor.

We're continuing to track all of the bug reports that people are posting to the forum. If we don't respond to your post specifically, that doesn't mean we aren't paying attention.

Also, a reminder that there is an extensive list of workarounds here:
http://vnboards.ign.com/titan_quest_tech_support/b23097/97565666/p1/?23

One more note, for folks having connection issues in MP, keep in mind that the host machine needs to have as much upstream bandwidth as possible. The lowest levels of DSL service are only about twice the speed of a dial-up connection and won't necessarily support large sessions. Geographical distance can also increase latency, as can things like wireless connections, where your bandwidth is at the mercy of your signal strength. We're continuing to look into the router/connection issues, but it's worth mentioning.

Finally, those of you having troubles with quests being blocked, we are continuing to look into this. In the short term, try to talk to NPC's after you finish a quest, before teleporting back to town to sell loot or the like. And if you need to delete the latest .que files, you will also need to go back to the beginning of the quest and re-complete it in order to trigger the advancement option. Deleting the .myw files is a last resort, as it will erase all quest data for your character. And, if you're crashing repeatedly in the same location as you try to complete a quest, you may need to delete the "fow" folder in order to advance.

We will continue to track these and the other issues people are having, and we will let you know as soon as we can what fixes are going into the next patch.

Thank you for your patience.

Best,
Eyejinx.

Hope this helps people having issues with this addicitive hack & slash. :)

Wow, Titan quest is pretty resource intensive. If I run it at 1920 x 1200 with max settings I get like 10FPS.

Got a Geforce Go 6800, 2 gigs ram etc...

I have found 1280x1024 the best resolution (19" CRT). Runs well at 1600x1200 but items and things are just too small to see properly.
