Tito Mboweni dies

Former South African Reserve Bank governor and finance minister Tito Mboweni has died at 65.

"It is with deep sadness that the Mboweni Family announces the passing of Mboweni," his family said in a statement on Saturday night.

Solid guy. I've met him and had a one on one sit down chat with him. A brilliant mind and he was pragmatic but he knew the revolutionary faction would never agree with his pragmatism. And he had great respect for Afrikaners:

At a breakfast in Johannesburg last week, reported in the Financial Mail, Mboweni said: "I have sought to recruit many competent black people, and no sooner have we trained them than they leave. I get so upset! I am stopping this recruitment of black people. I am okay with my Afrikaners. They stay and do the work."

Yeah that was 18 years ago

Was part of a criminal organization that has ruined a once prosperous country. Same as Gordhan. Hope it's hot in hell.

Never a truer word spoken.

I still struggle with the concept that the year 2004 was 20 years ago! The mental gymnastics
Yeah or that the 2010 wc was almost a decade and a half ago
