To all those who have been exeriencing more lag recently.

I have been experiencing some pretty bad lag over the last few weeks. At first I assumed it was the Nightfall downloads, but during the past 2 weeks there has been no significant downloads happening. I had a look at guildwarsguru and found this thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10037429

I tried it and believe me its so much better.

Yep, this will definitely improve performance of your gaming.

There are defrag apps out as well that can defrag single files nowadays.
One I use is PerfectDisk. Works like a charm.

I almost religiously defrag my machine (havent reinstalled my laptop for 2+ years) but havent done defrag in a while, so when I checked my drive it was of course very fragmented, my gw.dat file alone had 10500 fragments
Was wondering why I was experiencing bouts of jerkiness I also started having the NPC's jumping all over the place

I now do it a lot more especially with it getting so big. My gw.dat file is 2.7GB. It has been as high as 2.9GB. I think this is when they unlock content that it grows this big.
I am just wondering how big it will get until it becomes unmanageable.
