You had a modded Fiat and an Opel!!?? Shame man...

:p

yeah i know, when you are cash strapped u buy what u can...and i kept listing some of the companies fiat own as justification of my cars "heritage"...besides i was so far in the west that i replaced everything with abarth badges....yes, i was once that guy ppl shook their heads and chuckled at...

The uno was ....amusing..... but i really enjoyed the Ts, however i swore i would never mod a car again or buy a second hand performance car....

i wanna really get a newer faster car but it seems out of reach cos I wanna take out another home loan. an option would be to have some mild mods for some extra torque e.g. bolt on supercharger, and also some cosmetic mods like HID's and bigger wheels. those should cost me way less than an e46 m3 for example.

but i hear what u saying. most highly modded cars are not meant for daily driving if I understand correctly cos of the types of clutch, suspension plus ground clearance, idle and fuel consumption.

bolting on a supercharger is hardly a mild mod......

i know but that's relative. it's normally a low boost type giving one maybe 50%-80% more power unlike a heavy mod with 100-200% more power.

but coming back to the OP's questions. Ja it is annoying when someone can't shut up about their car or heavy sound in their car. Like the one about cracking the windscreen with too much bass:D

The Uno is fun to play with.
The Opel however was dogged with problems, from the clutch, the gears, the turbo and even the rails of the front seats:p

Was a cool car though... blue with a set of Ewings, lol the good old days.

To the OP
What do you say to the utterly stupid people that say stupid things like, VW goes to Toyota to steal ideas about reliability and design ideas, like WTF I feel like slapping him for talking crap!

How many of you have stood around braai's and some dude walks in all high and mighty, around an hour later he's lekker drunk and starts talking about his GTi with Frieling software that killed off an M3?

Amazingly these guys will prove it to you!

Just to be emabarrased by the ///M and then to keep on talking **** of he doesn't get traction and he needs 102 octane and some meth injection yada yada yada!

It seems to me these guys are ALL OVER as I hear stories of them frequently! I don't race S3's because they have 4 wheel drive, the M3 is slower than the 135i, why would you even think of buying the M3?Get a 335i, 'coz its quicker!

Did it ever occur to these fools that some people just like the M3? The fact that its fast is a bonus! I've seen guys have GTi5 Frieling fettled plus S3 conversion. Race chipped M3's, beat them, and then they try bigger fish. In the process of trying bigger fish, they spend more on the engine, then fixing stuff like the clutch etc etc. This particular guy raced a V8 escort on slicks on the late night street antics...he obviously lost. Now my question is, does this guy not realise that just because he killed off an M3 that his car is NOT that quick? Worst still, he went and traded the GTi5 for a Frieling Fettled 09 S3!!! Then he started to race once again!!!
My point is, if your car is quick, there will ALWAYS be someone quicker than you! Accept it, admit it, make peace with it!:D
thats why I drive a cheap car... you never have to worry about someone being better than you...

Alfa Romeo 147 2.0 TS...remap and full exhaust - then I realised that killing of323i's is cool, but I even went as far as trying my mate's S3, earlier ones...lol yes I know, the agony of hearing him hisssss past me is upsetting.

I just realised that its futile, at one point I was even contemplating a HOPS turbo upgrade, spoke to the guy at HOPS and he laughed at me, he said he can take it to 200+kw SAFELY! I was adament I'll do it, spoke to wifey and she did not reply...that was good enough answer.

Now I jsut enjoy my 118kw on crank bragging rights to myself:D

i've decided at my young age of 23, that if you want performance, go buy a 147 GTA, if you want all like comfort, speed, performance, looks, boot space get a grand tourer like the 3.2 GT...I'm ALFA mad yes...

Nope not cheap at all...

other guys spend their extra cash personalising the car, like an imported kit, some sound some nice classy wheels, Alfa owners spend their extra cash saving it just in case the clutch goes... in my case, or something else happens!!!

LOL - but like all cars, Alfa's needs MORE TLC and if you look after it it will look after you...simple, plus you need a permanent cash flow!

I assume you know that TS stands for Twinspark and a remap will do nothing more than 9% increase if you lucky... an exhaust on a 2.0 Alfa sounds crap, I know it does...
Why would you do that?
I seriously doubt you can stand up against a 6 pot Bm with what you said you have... really now, you becoming what you complaining about.

Its also unfortunate that you think if you need performance you need a GTA, also Alfa and performance seems to be distancing themselves, not good.

LOL - dude, I beat a 323i...like it or not...go cry in the corner if you will.

Yep you are Totally spot on...9% is what I got from remap, not CHIP! from 110kw + exhaust and remap I'm on 118kw!

And I like the sound of the exhaust on my Twinnie...you probably had a stupid exhaust system done by those guys standing next to the road on the car your APPARENTLY know about...lol:p

It sounds nice for me, I like it! No, I was not complaining about the fools just merely hearing YOUR opinion on it...since EVERYONE don't like those guys, are you one of them?

LOL - If I need performance I'll get a 147 GTA dude, what's your story? can't accept that I'll be happy with 184kw? I'll be totally happy I figured I don't need nothing above 200kw...

And stop sounding like an Alfa expert you come across as a ****...cheers dude!

You did not beat a 323, even a box 323 will give you a hiding! 118kw NA Alfa lol! Who you kidding? I dont want to ask how much you paid for 8kw lol!!
Me cry in a corner? They only thing crying in the corner is your gearbox when you taking an offramp...

Funny thing is I know my Alfas, I used to be a fan once upon a time... its the whole being gentle with the gearbox thing that kind of put me off, cant snap change, be gentle with the clutch .... to much headaches... whether the gearbox is at the back or the front, no difference... im sure you know most Alfa enthusiasts change to an M3 gearbox as soon as possible....

LMAO - joh joh joh - look, I was driving, friend waas driving...i beat friend in E46 323i...get over it, you sir...was not there OMG!

Paid around 6k for 8 kw! LUCKY ME!

LOL I won't be crying for me gearbox matie!!!I'll happily call AA to tow my baby just to get ANOTHER gearbox...and the cycle repeats again! The irony!:p

True...you cannot snap change a De Dion axle...cos the gearbox at the back thing kinda don't work for racing straight line requiring snap changes...plus worst still the coupling are made of...wait for it...wait a little longer...RUBBER!:eek: However MR grandmaster, newer models are quite happy to snap change, in fact they "come alive when we snap a 156 V6" *alfa emotional talk-don't you just love it?:p*

LOL - yep as the great de Viliers said...Alfa gearboxes are not meant for Turbo applications, thus he chagnes them to M3 boxes, also moves it closer to the front - dude WHO ARE YOU kidding?:sick:Heard it all before, seen it all before, drove it all before...oh and M3 is one of my favourites, just LIKE loud sounding 2.0 TS *stands for twinspark - apparently I didn't know:D* Alfa's...

Now, go do yourself a favour and either get back to work, or cry in your little cornertjie! Shap my outie!
