To Curve or not to Curve?

My trusty Sammy 50B550 (2009) Plasma is still going strong and beautiful, however, I am looking to upgrade on size to a 60". I note a marked price difference on curved vs non curved and am wondering if its worth it? I have seen in store, but input from those that own them in normal conditions would be welcome.
TIA

I am still in the middle regarding whether curved is actually a thing.

It feels very gimmicky/3D fad-ish to me.

Not a fan of curved TVs.

Would be fine for one or two people directly in front of the TV but I have guests over who would need to watch from an angle.
That just won't work....

non curve looks better on my wall too :D

I feel the same way. Sitting at an angle messes up the picture.

Makes sense....they are rather nice, but get the angle issue. Maybe I can get a bigger or better "flat" screen for the price of the curve.

I generally like good curves, but not on a TV set.

Personally do not like curved TVs. Just personal preference and when I last looked at TVs, they added to the price for noting extra.

When I went in to buy my TV I had a look at both, there was a major price difference between the 2. I looked at both and with the where the tv would be mounted the FLAT was the best option and I don't regret it.

It's meant to increase immersion, but the size to get that affect without having to sit front and centre everytime is ridiculous. It's a gimmick that won't last very long I reckon.
