To save Eskom change empowerment rules — Mteto Nyati

Waiting for the comrade to tell us why they must stay.

BEE is only half of their problem. The other half is Affirmative Action. Get people who can do the job irrelevant of colour of skin.

Waiting for the MyCadre bunch and the others that justify BEE, AA and EE despite them being racist legislation.

Well at least there is one guy who is partially sighted. He sees "empowerment" rules as unnecessary:
Nyati used the example of procurement, which he said is inhibited by unnecessary empowerment rules.

“It’s our responsibility as the board to remove any blockages or challenges in the way of the management team so they can focus on doing what they know best,” said Nyati.
He has the courage to speak out, so respect to him. I also believe that he should finish the sentence though, and address the racist AA laws. If he is completely honest and serious about performance, then he will also advocate for removal of AA, and allow managers to hire the best people for the job.

The next biggest issue is the government ownership of Eskom (which the ANC firmly believes is themselves), and the resultant political interference. If these are not addressed, then the corruption will continue. Then after that, the unions, who need to be muzzled and castrated (and preferably shot like the dogs that they are).

Without these fundamentals, there isn't any hope for a turnaround, and the Eskom Ponzi Scheme will continue, bailout after bailout.

In before he is accused of have white handlers, captured by white monopoly capital, etc etc.

Anyway, joke aside I do hope more black people speak up about the failure BEE has been for the poor.
The guy is not saying what you and the others think he is saying, he is talking about specific rules around BEE that he thinks hinders Eskom's recovery, not the whole BEE policy.

Perhaps read a little about him and his feelings around BEE from his other roles as CEO of the big companies.
