So 5:30 this morning Gridwatch is reporting stage 2 loadshedding, which means 6-8:30 for me. So I get up , shower, wake up the kids (which didn't go down well) to shower. All done before 6. So... still power. Checked Gridwatch .. No loadshedding status,... WTF. So this is me, being p!ssed off and happy at the same time :( :)

Agreed. Wednesday evening waited for scheduled cuts. Two loads of washing left on the floor, roast dinner abandoned in favour of something cooked on gas hob, fully charge both tablets and phone, make sure tablets have movies to watch.

Five o'clock, six o'clock and so on. Didn't go off. Irritating.

In my area in Cape Town the last 4 scheduled load shedding events we were supposed to have just never materialised. Very mysterious. We haven't had loadshedding here for weeks now.

I think whoever maintains gridwatch didn't send out the notification last night that load shedding was done.

Also got a message this morning saying we'd be out from 5 - I just ignored it and went about my day as normal :D

Then you're just lucky rather than GW being incorrect...although I will say GW doesn't update especially for CT, which usually has one lower stage than Eskom's stage.

I wasn't accusing GW of being incorrect. I'm also on Sharenet's load shedding alert service too, and I've double checked with the actual loading shedding schedules published by the city. For some reason someone is forgetting to flick the switch in our area when load shedding is supposed to happen. Not that I'm complaining, it's just annoying that we go through our routine to get everything ready for a few hours of no electricity and then nothing happens.

Saw that GW message too. Was wondering what was going on.

Bit of a b!tch when that's your slot and you rush to finish up before it goes . Jumper was pretty annoyed afterwards that he got up 45 min earlier than usual :D
Although he got back into bed straight after his shower... kids will complain about anything .... :)

haha kids :

But I have to admit that gridwatch app comes in handy. In 2014 we were not warned about loadsheddding in advance, it just happened :(
