Dear WBS,

Yeah, yeah, I've got your "thank you for your forebearance and support" email, and the warm and fuzzy christmas and new year wishes. I don't even have any gripes about your service. It works for me, it works well, and its reliable.

But we live in a world where technology gets better, faster and cheaper, and your current offering is looking decidedly bloated.

So in the new year I wish for:

Increased speed,
Greater and cheaper bandwidth,
Lower and more competitive pricing,
more varied and more flexible packages.

Or you can ignore these wishes and eventually lose a client, then more clients, and then a flood of clients.

I've reached the point where I'm no longer prepared to pay R159 for 1 Gb of additional bandwidth when I can buy 2 DVDs with 5-9Gb of data on each of them for the same price.

Its not oil or gold, or any other scarce resource. You don't even have to grow the stuff. This is just networking guys, you don't have to dig the bandwidth out of the freaking ground. And at R159 a gig, you can't even blame Telkom any more. It is pure greed.

I may be a happy client, for now, but that situation is rapidly changing. So please, WBS, for your own sake start innovating. I need to see reasons to remain your customer.

Happy New Year,
Gatecrasher

I'm about as loyal a customer as they are going to find. So they laugh at their peril.

Yeah, no shaping would be nice too! However, since almost anything you download is cheaper if you buy it on disk, this is hardly an issue anymore.

Well, if they spent as much time they did to compile the message when looking at your request I see no hope ... Have a look at the Document properties ;-)

And who said we don't live in a Microsoft Centric world... now we need MS Word to read ISP docs ;-)

No Problems so far

Well, still no problems here for me. going on 4 or 5 months now. And I use it for work, connecting over a VPN, to service international clients. In fact, due to the Christmas period, I've been working from home for 2 weeks now, being connected about 70% of the time, and I've only lost connectivity for 30 minutes.

I think this works like a charm. Touch wood I don't need to log a call or anything, but ANYTHING is better that a Telkom line. When I had no connection, I used my cell phone. Just easier that way. We're South Africans. We make a plan.

One reason I'm happier than most is, my work pays for this, so I don't feel the greedy paws of capitalism stealing my hard earned cash!!!

Of course, my only fear is what Little Lord Fauntleroy is going to say to this positive post.

iBurst has worked fine for me the whole year except for the month wbs started playing around with the proxy.

looks like Lord (_!_) had a bad experience and can't seem to understand that not all of us have bad connections.

My only real gripe is the damn "deathcap" instead of reducing to 64kbps, but that has nothing to do the the iBurst system, but rather to do with the wbs bandwidth monitor.

I think you should direct your anger at the shysters who ripped you off rather than throwing abuse at people who have nothing to do with your problems.

Why take your frustration out on other iBurst users? It is not like they are the ones causing the problems that you are currently experiencing and if you are angry at the fact that they are not having the same or as many problems as you also should not make them targets for your frustrations.

We are here to assist those like yourself who are experiencing problems. By targeting us, you cannot expect any assistance from the forum members.

As Gatecrasher said, direct your anger at the relevant people as you will have more luck getting it sorted than by making enemies of the forum members who will help where they can.

*rant over*

Now for the topic:

1. More Competitive pricing
2. Wider network coverage
3. No Shaping
4. More package options
5. a Helpdesk that helps
6. A Bandwidth moniter that works
7. A larger cap
8. Higher speeds that are INTERNATIONALLY competitive
9. The list goes on ...............................

Hi this is all I wish for:

increase cap and remove shaping... I'll still fork over R679 for my account if you could increase the account to say 10gig with no shaping...

reason?
1. well remove shaping = more bandwidth used
2. same pricing but more bw = more bandwidth bought to be used for downloading...
3. I won't be forced to phone SNO up for a DSL account :D

now WHAT YOU SAY WBS?
