Saw this yes. Absolutely shocking. I can't begin to imagine what the parents must be going through now.

update : http://www.sabcnews.com/south_africa/crime1justice/0,2172,160233,00.html

and for those of you who have kids... http://www.missingkids.co.za/Home.htm

We at SACMEC dedicate our efforts towards making South Africa a safer place for our children. We believe in "UBUNTU" and support the view of "Every child is my CHILD". Therefore we constantly search for ways and means to achieve this. One of these projects is the establishment of the PRO-KIDS DATABASE!!!!

A comprehensive and secure database that stores photos and information of children pro-actively will most definitely assist in the recovery of missing children. With the press of a button this information can be made available to the media, Police and other relevant parties. We then immediately have more than a million pairs of eyes to assist us in the search. This database safeguarded and set up by SACMEC will be operated at no cost to parents,

CLICK HERE OR GO TO OUR LOGIN PAGE AND REGISTER YOUR CHILDREN !!!!!

*mutter*

I swear if I ever have kids, and this kind of thing happens to me. I shall hunt the b@stards down and skin them alive, as a start to the many months of torture I shall put them through for taking my children from me.

Hijacked PMB toddlers safe
2 December 2007, 10:13

Two toddlers hijacked with their mother's car have been found safe in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Sunday.

Superintendent Henry Budhram said the children were still strapped into their car seats when they were found in the abandoned vehicle in the Pietermaritzburg suburb of Ashdown on Sunday morning.

Definitely good news.

I still hope the father will hunt down those hijackers and make them regret their career choice.

TGFGC (Thank God for good criminals)

They probably only wanted a lift home. It could have turned so much worse but alas there was some luck involved! :D:D

For the family's sake I pray and hope that the children are found unharmed :(
:(:(:(
Attach http://www.gsmcommander.com or any other http://scratchpad.wikia.com/wiki/GpsAndGprs modem to the fuel-cutout switch mounted close to the engine under the bonnet. If the vehicle is stolen give the gsm modem a missed call to cut-off the engine. See * http://scratchpad.wikia.com/wiki/VehicleSecurity. Gsmcommander is a SA based company.

Plus of course now that I think about it... yay.. lets cut off the engine while they're driving around, they MAY just kill the children because they can... did that ever occur to you?

glad the kids are safe. But it should not have happened in the first place.

I hate this country right now. Full of sick, sick people with no respect for life...

Nothing to do with luck. The SAPS is involved, they are the criminals working with the crime gangs to steal cars. Look how quickly they found Lucky Dube's killers - because they new who they were to begin with. It was just tough luck for the hijackers to kill the wrong person, had it been somebody else the station commander of that district would have drunk beer together with the killer laughing about the whole incident. I know of a hijacking-kingpin with a house full of children from hijackers working for him. The police is terrified of him because he is loansharking money to the cops. The person you own money to is your master right.

Thank the Lord.

I am glad for the parents :)

Happened to one of the ppl in our church as well - hijackers made off with the car + toddler, but car + toddler was found intact.

some of the people who will read this thread may know nothing or very little about these (or similar) products and would appreciate the info, so posting that link here could possibly prevent another murder in SA.

imo, if these (or similar) products were to be become compulsary and subsidized by government, hijackings should cease/decrease drastically.
why isn't anyone fighting for this... or has someone already tried and given up?

Plus of course now that I think about it... yay.. lets cut off the engine while they're driving around, they MAY just kill the children because they can... did that ever occur to you?
hijackers that kill their victims do so mainly because they fear being identified later on. when very young children are involved, there's less of a chance of that happening, so a more reasonable hijacker (iykwim) usually won't kill children.

Concur with that.

An irritated hijacker might just as well turn his unwelcome attention to the kids...
