No! he can keep his own cash and leave the taxes to be used for development of the "previously disadvantaged" and not the "current and previous Government members and their family's". Use business logic to run this country.

I am not a great follower of politics, but i do believe Tokyo would and should be the next ANC president, so what if he is a good business man, that is exactly what we need in this country a good businessman, he is also well liked, he has charisma, he has style, he is a "public" figure, he comes across well, and that is what we need at the moment , someone with charisma to "lead" this country, not "run" the country.
President Mbeki is a good spokesman , and should remain as that, spokesman for South Africa, leaving Tokyo to get this country back on track, ensuring the money that needs to be invested in the correct areas is , and making sure the "business" of building this country up is done wisely, and correctly.

I can already see the corruption, he'll be feeding all his bussiness interests, and keeping some for his pockets, then theres the followers....

To much trouble.
Its not that Tokyo is like that, he's just a bussinessman its what they do, he might just tarnish his own reputation in the end.

To be honest, ill level them out to be the same.
Thabos decent, another 4 years for him is good.
IMO.

A. It's five (5) years at a time.
B. No it's not good for him - or us.

I do hate the fact the we, the public cannot choose who will run the country. The ANC makes the choice based on popularity, NOT on who would do the best job, and which there is a vast, vast difference.

The party decides on who will represent it - just like the US, the UK and most other democracies. You vote for a party. If you want a more direct say in who is president, join a party and make sure it wins the election. QED.

You are right. I hear a story that he is connected to the mafia, business interests, and are high up on the hit-list of America, Maybe not so good to have him as no1. Maybe we will face political sanctions or drought.

Agree with someones' (someone posted earlier) stance on that SA should be run like a business. Really, it should, because it is.

There are too many donkeys running departments that are a shambles.

Zuma aint got a business brain cell in his head.

Running the country is just like running any other large business (obviously there is a size difference), but you need good managers throughout to run the business,. If the manager runs it like a donkey (like 99% of many polititions), then he gets the sack. That dont happen in the SA governemtn

Trever Manuel, and helen zille, aare 2 politians that seem to be running there departments with any sort of competance.

Leadership, and running your department as if it were your own business, doesnt happen..

So we need a president who is not afraid to use the whip when it is nessecary, and to run the country like a business.

Tokyo did quite a good job as premier of Gauteng when he was doing it and I believe he has the maturity and experience to not get swayed by kook fringe groups. I have never heard him singing about his machine gun either (which is not to say he hasnt). Zuma is bad news whether you like it or not. His behaviour at his various trials and the way he flushed the aids policy down the shower hole are enough reasons to exclude him from anything. If he becomes pres this country will take the final step into the abyss. Toyko is just going to have a problem when he goes on state visits to Japan and when people mispronounce his surname.
