I've often wondered about racist dogs, I have 3 dogs at home and the pitbull doesn't bark at people at all, only other animals, the Beagle will bark at anything that moves and the Jack Russel will tend to single out blacks to bark at.
I didn't teach him that, and I do not treat blacks any different than whites, that is with respect and politeness.
I have also noticed that as a white in a black neighborhood, their dogs will bark at me.

You have a Pitbull, a Beagle and a Jack Russel? The state of your furniture and garden must be something to see :)

Actually not really. The pit bull and the beagle keeps each other busy, and the jack russel is happy if he has a ball to play with. The only thing to remember at our house - NEVER EVER leave food out. The Beagle WILL find it and eat it

Our Jack Russel passed a few weeks ago so we got a Beagle-Dachshund cross (75% Beagle, 25% Sausage). Its got the legs and color of a sausage and the rest is Beagle.
Anyway, when my wife shops, she always leaves the bags on the ground. She turns her back for a minute and both the 9 week old pup and a half-kilo block of cheese is gone.
So, yeah, I'll believe what you say about the food.

When the beagle was still a puppy I forgot to close his food container. He ate till he literally couldn't walk anymore. His tummy stood out so wide, that he was as wide as he was long

As Roxi_B4b3 said, they amuse each other so they leave our stuff alone, yet the Pitbull is old now and when I have workers at my house they have to put their clothes up high because she'll still chew their shoes and she loves ripping caps apart.
She never chews my stuff but any worker like the gardener or builder's stuff is fair game.

I'll have to find a buddy for the beagle-sausage to keep him busy. We have a boxer, but he is 9 years old and very grumpy. Bad enough that I don't want the puppy within reach of his teeth.

Cheese, my dogs will do *anything* for cheese. When I was training them it was the only thing they always wanted badly.

That's a pretty good idea for a training treat.
I'm having some trouble house-breaking our puppy. He whizzes outside but refuses to plant his land-mines anywhere outdoors. We leave the door open and try to take him outside when he starts sniffing around, but no luck. Yet.

CDC's 10 Most Dangerous Dogs List
Pit bulls
Rottweilers
German Shepherds
Huskies
Alaskan Malamutes
Doberman Pinschers
Chow Chows
Great Danes
St. Bernards
http://www.texasdogbiteinjurylaw.com/dangerous-dog-breeds.php

What a list, I say while it depends on the dogs natural temperament, the main issue is with their treatment

I have a husky and she is the most loving dog, my wife has a pointer cross ridge back again the most loving dog my kids have been around them all their lives (3 and 4 year old boys) and we have never had a single problem.

My wife grew up with a great Dane cross and also never had any issues.

I am going to have to get new dogs soon as my Husky is diabetic and 90% blind and my wife's ridge back is 14 and is starting to go downhill. Not something to look forward to.

When they are gone I want to get my wife a great Dane cross and I want a basset, we will go to save a pet rather than a breeder.

It's great that you want to adopt - there are so many great older dogs out there looking for a home. Just bear in mind - Bassets are stubborn as hell

Again. People tend to get it wrong. ANY dog is dangerous, if it is abused and not well cared for. Labradors are also dangerous. Ask the French lady http://www.bestgore.com/medical/isabelle-dinoire-photos-labrador-dog-attack-face-transplant/

Em. You got your facts mixed up. The lab wasn't dangerous.

Isabelle Dinoire is a French woman who was mauled by a Labrador dog after she had overdosed on sleeping pills in May of 2005. While she was passed out, Tania – the dog Isabelle Dinoire loved so much came to her and started scratching and chewing on her face. There are speculations that the dog got frantic after seeing her master unresponsive and was possibly trying to wake her....(She) spent quality time floating somewhere in the fifth dimension while her face was being eaten by a Labrador dog. After she woke up, she could see the floor covered in blood. She reached for a cigarette box, pulled one out and went to light it up when she realized she had no lips and the blood on the floor was her own.

My grandpa had one of those... things. It was an old army dog, which probably explains a lot, but it was one of the nastiest dogs I know. There isn't a single grand child who wasn't bitten, and he really did it for literally for no reason at all, because we all did our best to avoid the dog. That is, until our grandparents had to come live with us and their dog encountered our Great Dane. He thought he was going to be the main konyn at our house as well, but one bite from the great dane and Nico lost his 'dik-trul' attitude.
