Some of the funniest or strangest moments in cricket I recall watching:
Back in the days of Hansie Cronje's captaincy we where playing an ODI against a team I don't recall and they where chasing our score. It got to 2 or 3 overs to go with them still needing something impossible and the SA team was just laughing and celebrating as the game wound down. Cronje then jokingly asked Jonty Rhodes if he would like a bowl (he had zero bowled overs in ODI cricket before that I think) and he said yes. Bowled a prety decent over actually attempting to bowl spin from what I recall. The other team did not seem to find it as funny as the South African's.

Another incident was when we where playing india and someone in the crowd set a mongoose loose on the field. It was running around like mad and once or twice the ball came close to it. At that point the commentators went into great detail on what penalties the Indian host team would pay in runs (I think it was 5 runs) should the ball actually hit the mongoose.

:D

Did the ICC fine them for "un-gentlemen" behaviour?

There was once a NZ batsman, think his name was Nicholson who sprained his thigh muscle while playing a shot. The yell he gave out was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Another NZ incident was when two batters ran to the same end after a mixup during a single.
Seeing 2 guys from the same team ground their bats together was epic.

Like Donald and Klusener, causing SA to lose....I know, not that funny.

The one that sticks with me was from the 1992 World Cup in Aus... Our opening game against Allan Border's boys at the SCG. Kuiper picked up Marsh and Border, who'd been talking a LOT of smack 'bout SA, came sauntering in, took his guard and Kuips bowled him first ball. If you watch it now, more than twenty years later, you can still feel the huff as Border pops his bat under his arm and stomps straight off the field. What's the Aussie version of "chop"? :D

Cius, I remember that game. I also recall that we had 6 or 7 slips in place at that point too.

If I'm not mistaken I was also impressed by how much movement Rhodes got in the air before the ball bounced and how much spin he got on the ball.

There was a stray dog which got onto the field for either an IPL or CL match in SA. Took forever to catch him. Quite funny.

My funniest moment was when, after playing a defensive shot, Inzie was wondering around outside the crease poking at the pitch with his bat.

Jonty then casually walked up to the stumps and lifted the bails. Inzie forgot to ground his bat inside the crease after playing the shot and he also never put a foot inside :p
