Best places to renew your driving licence card

The number of slots available for driving licence card renewal appointments on the Road Traffic Management Corporation's (RTMC's) online booking system has significantly improved in the past eighteen months.

Launched on the eNatis website in February 2022, the facility allows motorists to secure a slot and pay the prescribed renewal fee before presenting themselves to their chosen driving licence testing centre (DLTC) for capturing of their fingerprints, photos, and eye tests.

When I went to Waterfall, having a booking meant nothing. They still processed first come first serve. This was about a year ago.

Used the Eco park one last time. Only a few people there and got processed very efficiently. When I went back to collect the license it was just after payday and the place was packed. Looks like even the amount for a license renewal requires budgeting for many people.

Tip: At that time at least they only accepted credit card payments, no cash.

Tip 2: People over 60 (i.e. a large percentage of the forumites) can walk in without an appointment at any centre. Just have to hope that the staff knows this.
