I guess its a step in the right direction

Bidvest chairperson (and senior ANC NEC member) Cyril Ramaphosa used the opportunity to call for the revision of BEE laws and said companies should not be stripped of empowerment credits when BEE partners sold their investments in those companies.

Said Ramaphosa: "They should be allowed to keep their credits (earned for concluding BEE deals) because they did something for the empowerment of the previously disadvantaged, which is what BEE is about."

BEE/AA is racist, period. It is just a clever guise by the new elite to enrich themselves. Help to the disadvantaged should occur according to class and not race. If you are poor, you are poor and need help, irrespective of how pale or dark you are.

The tragic thing is, that if government were to dish out help according to class it would be the most "demographically representative" things they've ever done!

I wonder how many folks have actually sat down and looked at the dynamics of demographic representativity and how this affects the South Africa of the future? Very few I suspect. History will deal with BEE/AA harshly when looked back upon in the future. It is the yardstick by which the ANC of today will be measured and beaten for eons to come. It is despicable!

Call it what you like:

Separate development
Apartheid
BEE ((How do you define black?) = non-white)
AA

There is no difference. The result is going to be the same.
