Top games that don't have South African servers

Is this still closed beta?

Pay for Pre-order to test the thing?

Is that worth it??
Yes however close to release
Is it worth it is very depandant, it is either you will love it or hate it no inbetween. will you play another game similar to this no. is it worth the High price yes IMHO however you need to make sure you are happy that you very will get sniped from some where you have no idea where from you will just drop dead not even hearing the shot back to menu for you kind of game.

TF2 has local valve run servers. The community is relatively small and the servers start when there are enough people. Generally in the evening you'll had a few hours of good game-time. You can find these servers just by queueing normal matchmaking. Normally CTF or Payload.
There are one or two community hosted servers and a strong 6v6 comp type games going as well.

Would highly recommend tf2.

I hope these streamer “activations” happening at the malls will get more people gaming on PC and that in turn gets us more servers.

@Jan - do you guys have an estimate of how many console / PC gamers there are in SA who actually play these games? Are there really so few of us that it isn’t worth setting up servers here, or are we just second rate gamers in the eyes of the devs?

Apex must please bring us local servers.
There are plenty of ZA Apex players but not enough to keep lobbies full with no wait times.
I've alt f4'd & uninstalled for the last time. It's just about impossible to hot drop. Feels like a slide show even at 165FPS. Feels like you land first and get to a gun first only to find xxx_your_mum actually got that first and blasts you away. Over it and don't know why I put myself through this... Even with not hot drops the disadvantage is massive.

Anything I can host on a raspberry pi for you guys?

I have many permanently connected to internet with backup power.

The problem is that even if there are a few million gamers in SA, it is still not enough if taken into consideration the diversity of games out there being played.

I would love to see figures of our player base on popular titles in SA. That should probably give us a better understanding.

You need a population of USA or EU to be able to really fill up lobbies and even if a game's popularity dwindles, you still have massive numbers of people that are able to fill a server relatively quickly. Developers don't really want you to sit in a waiting que for longer than a few minutes, so even if there are local servers, if it doesn't fill up quick enough it shoots over to EU. I reckon that is why there aren't any Fortnite or Apex local servers. The developers probably doesn't believe there to be enough active players in SA to fill up lobbies and justify hosting servers here.

Man I miss local gaming communities like TF2 back in the day. When privately hosted servers solved the problem for us. But now everything has to be official servers only and we simply don't have the numbers to justify it.

I'm on ps4 and love my Battlefield esp BF1. Unfortunately there are no longer players online so I join EU from jhb with about 177ms.are there any other fps games with local players. I'm not looking for call of duty.
