Top USB-C flash drives available in South Africa

In 2005, I used to have a 1GB flash drive and I was a legend. It was the equivalent of having an iPhone 16 Pro today.

20 years ago yes. The cloud has replaced it these days.
Not sure how you Flash a BIOS without it for most mobo.

Also unsure what you do if you are heading somewhere with spotty/slow net, are you arguing external ssd then? Thumb drive is just more convenient.

Windows install can do via network, but would need to be a more techie user imho (plus two systems).

Yeah, the notion that flash drives are useless is is insane. Might as well say the same for external hard drives.

The cloud doesn't help me when I have to quickly transfer files between computers or restore data, nor when I have to fix someone's pc.

Bra I bought a 128mb flash drive that could play MP3s and it was mind blowing.

Me too, paid R1000 for it. Was devastated when someone took it and didn't give it back.

When I still had a AMD system the bios I could update via Windows. You can even format Windows from settings nowadays. Again the world has moved on.

Condolences. The cloud works perfect for me with that else I just quickly use WhatsApp to transfer something.
I don't see how Watseaap can transfer properly between PCs. Also not how you're going to use the cloud when you have to wipe everything and start from nothing. It looks like you're trying workarounds when a flash drive is still the best and most elegant solution in some cases.

To each their own.

has anyone actually verified any of these so called speeds or can post their results?

I have that Sandisk one and it's useless. I swapped over to just an SSD in a portable casing out of frustration.

No way I'm storing my passwords in the cloud.
They stay on my flash drive.
No, they're too unreliable. 12 years ago I stored a 100 bitcoins on one and when I needed to cash in, the drive wasn't working any more. :whistling:

Oldest, still working, flash drive I own is a silver Sahara 512mb stick.
