Toshiba external HDD

Hi Guys

NOt really sure if i am in the correct place, but maybe someone can help me.

I was wondering if anybody would be able to help me.

I have a Toshiba external HDD.

What happened was that i installed the HDD Password Tool on my previous laptop and had the password registered on there. That laptop has been stolen so i got a new one and downloaded the software off their website otherwise the HDD wont show up never mind being able to get into it... the problem is i have absolutely no idea what the password is, it still gives me the hint i put on but i had tried every password in mind but nothing works

If possible i would like to keep the information thats on the HDD.

Has anyone got any advise or idea what i can do to get into the HDD again?

Any help will be much appreciated.

plug the drive into a machine booted into a linux live cd.. mount it and copy the data off.. format, recreate partition and put data back..

My mate Dave also lost all his pron once this way. Shem. Hope somebody can assist.
