Tower 21

I stay in Linden Ext Tower 21 gives be the best signal by far (10db more than any other) But it seems to be too far away at 52ms or 16km its further than roodepoort and I cannot connect to it. Anyone have any ideas on this towers name, should be a good tower to connect to if it sends me such good signal.


BTW I finally got my UTD home to do some iConnect C# testing and found that moving from one side of my window to the other I can connect to tower 21 linden roodepoort randburg bryanston or northcliff in the space of about 2m and at same height.

Im not at home at the mo(Weltevreden Park), but what i can figure out, 21 is Roodekraans. I also get srong signal from it but Northcliff over runs it. Iconnect says Im 7 km from tower 21 which is about right for Roodekraans. Ill double check later on though.

Uhm ... I may be mistaken but the last time I checked tower 21 in Gauteng is still not live... it's what is commonly called a "Ghost Tower"....interference.

As to towers in the Weltevredenpark/randpark ridge area ... there should be something new for us VERY soon ....

Hmmm... a ghost tower with -80 -> -85db signal(and at a distance of 52ms and I am not using an arial) . Its f*** with me cause I cannot connect to it but it gives best signal

I've been corrected seburn ... 21 is Roodekrans tower...

21 used to be the "favourite" tower that my modem reported when smoking pot... hehe

Watch out for a new tower in the next week or so ... may be better for you...

Ive picked up a tower #27 with a distance of 1km from where I am (Weltevreden
Park) the other night with a signal of -100(obviously just testing it). Nice distance to have one, problem is Im moving at the end of the month! Murphy's Law if I ever saw it!

Thats easy... not enough!

The map tells you even less. Dunno which ones are active or not. They sould at least maintain the website a little more often.

It would be friggin amazing if we could monitor their progress.

Just extended my UTD with a 20m cat5 cable up to the roof: Signal shot up from average -98 to -80. Now thats not too bad.
