Tower 22 - Fourways JHB speed

I read a comment by nonroker that he has been getting around 23KB/s on tower 22. I must say since yesterdays fiasco has been sorted out my speed is also back to 'normal' on my 256k package. I am getting around 20 - 23 KB/s average. Is there anybody else on this tower that is experiencing bad speeds - 3-4KB/s? Also in general what speeds do other users get from this tower and what packages?
I am actually closer to randburg but this tower seems a lot better than mintek. []

aborg, are you on node 2 or 3, I've been looking for someone else on node 2 of tower 22 to compare with, I've always had speeds between 8 and 11 on the 128K.

Well I'll give you this info:

Signal : 28% SNL : 9 Freq : 2.530 ber : 71%

Hope this helps to determine the node.

you're on node 3, I connect at 2.518, signal:12%, Ber:36%,
So it seems its not only the tower to take into account, but the node as well

Looks like were on the good side of the tower nonroker...I really hope it stays this way - but with all the network inconsistencies I won't bet on it. This tower must be near Sucktech's HQ.

After weeks of good speeds, I now also get bad speeds. Maybe they're rotating the available bandwidth ?

when my speeds start sucking i normally average 30kb/s, and it usually comes back in a day or two

My speed also dips every 3rd day or so to about 8 KB/s - maybe the nature of the beast? Saturday had been pretty stable at 20 KB/s. I'd love to know what the 512 guys are getting on this tower.

Oh and touch wood!! it stays.

noone whats your record dl for one day? in the beginning I had one day where I got 100 megs an hour for 4 hours - 1.9 GB that day - still far away from the 2.4 GB theoretical limit for 256k.

hey aborg, you misunderstood me, My speeds are fairly good on my side of the tower too.
Todays been especially good, haven't gone below 11K yet (128K package)

That's fantastic dorris. [8D] I will never put my modem on the other side of my house - thats where I get signal from the mintek tower and it still needs to be sorted out.

hmmm, i average about 2.4gig every 14 hours....about 4.1 gig every 24 hours i reckon
