Why is this even about race/ethnicity?
Whitey did it first, you have to bow to him and give him the credit he deserves.

It's more about urban communities than it is about Whitey. Townships and other informal areas have been doing their version of the same thing for years, very often with results that are as illegal as the acts they are protesting against.

You so remind me of that guy that farts in a lift full of people as you get out, then think it's a Champ.

We have the Community Policing Forum here in Phalaborwa and surrounding areas
Police work and Ambulance help

and all honestly PHB would be a complete disaster without them

Is your CPF equipped to deal with free roaming lions?

So Community Policing Forum?

We've got the same. Its more a voluntary thing (patrollers are not paid) but contributing households help cover the airtime, data and fuel costs of the patrollers. They work closely with the two major Armed Response companies in the area as well as keep local SAPS in the loop. They even have volunteer counselors in the event of fatal accidents and home invasions. Long-term they want to establish a fixed operations centre that will be manned 24/7. Basically if something goes down you phone them and not bother trying to get through to the police.

I could actually see a model like this even replacing armed response. Self-policing urban areas. Of course some checks and balances as there have been cases where these community forums have over-stepped their boundaries.

This is actually becoming quite common. In my neighbourhood this has been the case for a few years now....there's some effectiveness to it I guess...
Presence plays a part in deterring such crimes. Something SAPS lack.

I'm Lost...
its kinda like the mafia in a way
the township by me for example is basically run by the taxi association with a bunch of goons doing there dirty work
do something they don't like or start a taxi/uber business and they'll have you killed

and i won't be surprised if they peddle drugs on the side

Oh I see what he meant...

but that's far from the truth really...Taxi associations don't run townships. Gangsters, drug lords etc have a lot of clout.

Taxi bosses have concerns where taxis are involved and that's where they operate like mafia....

admittedly yea i doubt the bosses themselves organize the drug traffic but i won't be surprised if they do or have some hand in it at least the one here
and they give off the sense that they run the township, they have the manpower and guns to make it seem so
