Okay. Now we’re talking!

Shame on that 3 exhaust thing they got going on though. Will strongly consider it though.

Weird they decided to make the best Corolla for a long long time a hatch. I get that the Conquest was a Corolla and they sell a hatch now but is it not iconic as a sedan.

No one has a problem with the four on the Golf R and many other models, is it because three is an odd number?

I don't really care for multiple exhaust pipes but I think these were done tastefully.

They look better than the four on the golf actually. They fit in so well and don't look attached to the underside of the car.

Must say Toyota have a lot of models out here. This one is going to cost.

sedans started dying a decade ago already, alas if hatchbacks aren't lifted and crossovered, they too have just a limited target market

The hatch market is still fine, the Toyota Starlet, Polo and the Vivo are in the top 5 of the best selling cars despite not being lifted and being totally devoid of black plastics around the wheel arches.

The problem we have is that we don't have enough options for hatchbacks,

Honda still thinks the Fit/Jazz is good enough to compete even though it looks like an MPV.
The less said about Opel and its overpriced Corsa the better.
Ford has discontinued all tgeir hatches from SA.

At least Renault is still putting in a decent effort but with the discontinuance of the Sandero, things are not looking great on that front as well.

Do you think the crossovers are worse vehicles than the hatchbacks they are replacing/outselling?

I am honestly not a fan, I am conservative when it comes to cars and believe more in functionality than just pointless design. I think they are reflecting our buying trends, women have money and it's evident in the popularity of the crossover.

They are generally not bad cars besides the fact that they are mostly overpriced for no good reason, they don't serve any functional purpose over the normal hatch so I honestly think most of them are pointless.

You think the Urban Cruiser, Venue, Magnite segment is overpriced compared to hatches?

In terms of the design I think the higher clearance and assuming better suspension is necessary for SA roads

There are exceptions of course but look at Kia, Hyundai, Honda and a couple more manufacturers and you will see that they are able to get away with murder on the spec level.

We are drifting further and further away from topic, but as I said previously, I believe more in functionality than gimmicks, I would take more airbags or active safety features over a touch screen or rain sensing wipers or the similar gimmicks they put into cars to dazzle unsuspecting buyers.

At the end of the day some people don't care about what they cannot see, so the manufacturer has caught onto that, it's clearly working out well. I do respect others choices though so I don't want to come out too strong against those SUVs/Crossovers.
