Do you think the crossovers are worse vehicles than the hatchbacks they are replacing/outselling?
merely for the fact that they “pretend” to be SUV offroaders - anything from the Cross Polo, Etios Cross, Sandero Cross, Kwid Climber with a few added bits of plastic at the sides and wheelarches, all the way to the Mercedes GLA, GLC and GLE that one would be filled with trepidation to take off the tarmacadam for fear of ruining the paintwork…

(This coming from someone who drives a Tiguan 4motion - which the true 4WD’ers also point to and laugh, calling it a “platkar”, but to which I have at least fitted
Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar A/T M+S 235/65R17’s and driven in sand on Namibia’s C and D roads and Ganzi in Botswana, in muddy conditions near Coffee Bay, Hole-in-the-Wall and Port St Johns, through shallow water crossings and over Swartberg Pass, R339 Avontuur/Uniondale (Prince Alfred’s Pass/Uniondale Poort) etc - but admittedly these can also be negotiated driving cautiously in a hatchback if you have nerves of steel.)

Cant say. Need to experience it in real life first, but not R750K.
To be honest at the current car prices R750k for 224kW/370Nm AWD hot hatch is not ridiculous.

The big problem is that very ordinary cars are overpriced but people are still buying them, so South African consumers have pretty much painted themselves into a corner, we will never have nice things if we are happy to part with good money for ordinary things.

So I think they are going to do like the Yaris and just bring in a few.

Only 6500 GR Corolla's will be built , world wide. I reckon we might get 200 or so.
