TP-Link TL-WR743ND AP/Client router review

TP-Link is trying to cover as much of the (router) playing field as possible. The TL-WR743ND is the latest player to join an already diverse team. Does it fit in and, more importantly, can it prove its worth?

In a strange twist of events, the WR743ND ended up having the best wireless range of all the TP-Link routers reviewed thus far. What’s more, even at the furthest point that signal was available, speeds were still decent.

I'm really surprised by this. How can it beat the WR1043ND with speeds up to 300Mbps and it's three antennas?

I am also wondering about this.

I think to get an accurate indication of speed between these devices they should be paired with the equivalent TP-LINK client adapter, so a 300mbps device for the 1043ND and a 150mbps device for the WR743ND.

Hmm, thread necro alert.

I cant seem to get the Time-Based Connection Option working properly under WAN connection mode.

It just doesn't connect.

Outside of that, rock solid device
