I am looking at building a site with road traffic info on it to let people know what is happening on the roads - traffic jams.

Does anyone know where I can find a RSS feed with traffic info?

The site is not only going to cover this, but it is a core part to make it work, more than that I can't elaborate at this stage...

Thanks in advance...

Cloak & Dagger, I love this type of question...

"I'm doing something and I want to get something but I won't tell you" lol

Anyway... I don't know of such a service, and I guess if there is one the user would probably use that website to check everything (but I guess this is where your cloak & dagger stuff comes into play)

The only one I know about that shows traffic is News24, but that was before their new design and I doubt they had RSS

I check traffic info on my cellphone at a few URLs you would be hard-pressed to defeat:

highveld.mobi/traffic.asp
www.ewn.co.za/trafficewn.asp

I am pretty sure that taking their feed into your own site would be regarded as copyright infringement though. Try the new thing from altech...

Thanks for the replies so far guys, your funny

The only reason I can't elaborate is that there isn't much to elaborate as I have just started thinking about this and if in fact there isn't a service available - I'm not going in to planning and building the thing.

Thanks for the info on where you get your traffic sources and please list more...

News24 has better info than ewn but no RSS feed, probably have to use a page scraper then. Good luck and please let us know if you can get something up and running :)

yea simple "page scraper" (aka, screen scraper, aka ajax call) should be able to get you the html, then you can use a DOM library like jquery to loop through all the (nicely structured for your pleasure) tables they have in there to get the info you want :)
