Transfering an Mtn contract from one perons name to mine

Hi
I would like to know if it is possible for a friend of mine to take out an conract for mr in his name, and then in a few months from now transfer it over to my name.
reason for this is that I started working offshore in december 2016 and atm i cant take out an contract in my name.
Im a few months time when i have enough payslips and credit n my record i would like to transfer it over into my name.
I would just like to know if that is possible.

Yes you can, easy process.

from my experience, it is not easy at all. I took one out for my brother, 5 years ago.
the idea was to transfer it after a few months. he did not get approved.

when that contract ended, he tried again, and we were told to move the contract to prepaid, wait a month, then re apply in his name and ask to keep the number. so we extended the contract.

we ended the contract last year, and it took them 2 months to move it to prepaid.


jsut rather save yourself and dont fall for MTN's marketing, the service they provide is not woth the data they give on the special at the moment.

True easy process if you have a local bank account showing salary/regular deposits and you have a decent credit record locally.
