So to the smart bankers out there,

If I have a Standard Bank account and want to transfer money to an account in England, Lets say the bank is HSBC or Barclays or whatever bank they use there.

1.) How do I make the transfer to an international bank, Can it be done via internet banking? (normal cheque account, or well an access account to be specific)

2.) I guess if question 1 is a yes it can be done via internet banking, then is it better to do a transfer to an account in england or would it be better to draw cash here, exchange it at forex to pound notes and take it with there? (yes i am going there just seeing which way is best to take my cash), will it cost the same amount or?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank You

Visit your nearest branch with a forex division, with your ID in tow.

You will be asked to complete a form and you will need the international account and bank details, including the physical address of that branch, the SWIFT code, BIC code, etc.

If all is in order, it's pretty quick.

I've done this thrice this year and am about to do it again.
