Well its amusing, but its more of a Transformer ad parody..

And it seemed to be highlighting the downfalls of the ad. Stupid ad I agree, but what are the downfalls compared to other tablets?

You don't I know about the problems they are having with the aluminium case? I thought the GPS bit was taking a poke at the fact they had to remove GPS from the spec sheet?

I guess you havent seen the Prime physically yet? If you see that thing you would be amazed at what it can do. We recieved ours yesterday and let me tell you its 10x faster then an Ipad. Thanks to the Tegra 3 chip its got. its also very thin and has a nice feel to it.

When I get some time tommorow ill test the GPS and the wifi to see what the response is.

Be interesting to see if they've resolved the issue yet.

Aaah you referring to the problems on TF201 models. Yep I am aware of them but seeing that the add was picturing the TF101 I did not see what I guess you saw in the ad.

Oh and the TF700 not only address the wifi and GPS issues it also now boast a true HD display running at 1920x1200.

You obviously haven't seen the original ad:

They've used original footage, but given the date of the parody I'm pretty sure they're making reference to the new one.

Well to give you guys an idea Recommend Retail on the 64GB is est R7299 and the dock is about R1599 which makes this still one of the most versatile tablets out there. I do agree however its sad that the Gps is almost non existent and that im making excuses but you would have to ask yourself, would you rather prefer using a garmin as a GPS device or a 10' tablet?

Ill do you guys a favour and test the Wifi and GPS capabilities in the morning and report back here. Hopefully it will brighten up things for all.

In fact I actually did, it was one of the reasons I got one ;)

Again because the parody had the old transformer and not the new one I saw it as a joke on the ad and not a joke on the prime as per say.

Big Android fan and I was gonna get the TF201... but that was a huge blunder if you ask me.

Will wait for TF700 till then this one is perfectly fine.... And I do use GPS its called locational aware functions in aps like Google search and other social postings. Its not only used for navigation.

Edit: OW if it does bother you later on, a drill + hellow kitty sticker can fix it....

My biggest issue with nearly all my android devices I have owned (DHD, TF101 and SGS2) is the weak wifi signal. I've compared this to iPhones, ipads and laptops and my android devices trail badly...every time.

I expect the same issue with the Prime and no 3G makes it a fail tablet in my opinion. If I buy a tablet again, its going to be an ipad, unless I see concrete results that the wifi is as strong as the devices I mentioned (and that it gets 3G).

I have the oppisite, in bed I can use my HTC Desire on Wifi but my iPad's range is literally an arms length short. I can connect if my arms are stretched out but not close to my chest.

Yeah I have noticed the same on some devices. My DHD sucks beyond, the TF101 does have larger range than DHD but still worse than my iPad. Then comes my xperia play, this phone has one mother of a range and can pick up signals where even my laptop with external antenna fails.

So I guess it all depends on device to device and is not really an Android problem.

I am also with you on the 3G even if I don't use it, I still think its really dumb for the prime not to have a 3g model.

I think the reason why i am so put off with getting another iPad is because i had a wifi only model. And a tablet without 3G is EXTREMELY limited with what it can be used for.
So my dislike for the iPad is my own fault for not getting a 3G version :p. Which is why i want to get an Android tablet sometime :D.
