To the travel experts and agents out there..

Family members are waiting on flights from SA to Mauritius. They are vaccinated.
I see borders have been opened in Mauritius, but SA (along with UK, Brazil and Japan) were previously restricted entry into Mauritius.

Is this still the case? I'm not seeing anything definitive on the sites:

Anyone able to assist?

I don't think there are direct flights between ZA and MU at the moment, so they'd have to go via Seychelles or Dubai.

AFAIK, tourism is open to everyone, with neg. PCR test and 2-week quarantine on arrival

They are open to the 2 week quarantine and further 7 day self isolation.. they just want to get there.
But, the rules all along have been that anyone who has been in SA in the last 3 weeks are not allowed entry into MU.

No.

Friend of mine says: "No restrictions so far. While booking the tickets the agent will tell. Any restrictions are available in reservations system."

Best to book the tickets through a travel agent.

(Port Louis, Mauritius, 15 July 2021) – Mauritius has opened its borders to international travellers, both vaccinated and non-vaccinated, from today, 15 July 2021.

Phase 1 of reopening of the borders for the Indian Ocean Island, which runs from today until 30 September 2021, allows vaccinated guests to stay in one of 14 chosen “resort bubbles”.

Holidaymakers will be able to enjoy facilities within their chosen hotel including the swimming pool and beach. If guests stay for 14 days and have negative PCR tests during their stay in the resort, they will then be able to leave the hotel and travel around the island freely for the rest of their stay, exploring the island’s many attractions. However, for shorter stays, they may leave the resort earlier and travel back home.

The approved Covid-19 safe resorts are available on: www.mauritiusnow.com

I saw this yes, but apparently those coming from SA first need to spend 15 days elsewhere before they will be allowed into Mauritius to start their 14 day quarantine... can anyone confirm or deny this?
There are repatriation flights twice a month, but very difficult to get onto those.
