The non mainstream side are at least open about their discomfort at an Indian UK PM.

a big chunk of the UK voted for his political party, not for him. He was elected after Truss was forced out after 6 weeks. He was elected by the party internally.
At the next national elections, the people of the UK will be able to choose their political party to run government again, along with who will be PM as a result of that.
