The fundamental point is there was and is the opportunity for Arabs and Israeli's to co-exist side by side (the large Arab/Israeli population is evidence of this) but there is no compromise when it comes to issues of national security.

Israel doesn't get a free pass though do they? Every move they make is scrutinized to the nth degree and they held to incredibly high standards re rules of engagement. They get lambasted at every UN sitting and account for the vast majority of UN resolutions and condemnations passed.
@Cray trying to pull the race card just shows, once again, how little he knows.
Then again we already knew that as soon as he jumped in supporting terrorist sympathisers.

I don't think Cray really supports Hamas and their actions, but him like most progressives are useful idiots for Hamas by not being on the side of Israel.

The political reality is that Hamas is gaining control over "Palestine". Look at what is happening:

The smiling visage of a keffiyeh-clad Yasser Arafat. The yellow, rifle-bedecked flags of his movement. The names, etched in black, of those who died in its service.

For decades, al-Amari has been a stronghold of Fatah, the secular and nationalist party that emphasizes diplomacy as its answer to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. But in recent days, the tableau in the camp has shifted: Green flags mark the entrance and graffiti to match emblazons the walls with a single word: Hamas.

“They’ve given strength to the whole Palestinian cause,” said Mohammed Khadier, 16, as friends nodded in enthusiastic agreement. “We consider Hamas our leader now.”

Hamas is not interested in any form of Israel existing, and to be honest neither is the PLA.

Look what is under the control of the PLA, the education system, and see what they teach their children.
A photo from the exhibition posted on the Al-Surra Elementary School’s Facebook page show a Palestinian boy wearing a ribbon with the Palestinian flag and the word “Palestine” on it. The boy is preparing to “execute” another child dressed as an Israeli soldier. He points a toy M16 rifle at the Israeli soldier, who kneels with his arms raised in surrender. A second photo shows “the Israeli soldier” lying on the ground after being “executed” by the smiling Palestinian child.

A report in the Palestinian daily Al-Ayyam described the exhibition at the Al-Surra Elementary School, south of Hebron, as “a cultural art exhibition… for Palestinian Prisoner’s Day.” [Al-Ayyam, April 21, 2016]

The way the Palestinian Authority educates its children will determine if there can be peace in the future. PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas repeatedly professes to foreign audiences his desire for peace between Israel and a Palestinian state living side by side. However, with the prevalence of this type of hate and terror promotion, PA schools themselves are a great impediment to peace.

The solution cannot come from any current authority in Palestine TBH. It honestly will have to be more like what happened in Japan after WW2. A coalition of the US, Israel and the gulf states would need to take control over the entire government.

I don’t understand why you guys want the violence to end? Are you not aware that peace in the Middle East is one of the signs of the end of the world? Let them keep fighting, it doesn’t affect us. Stopping would.

900,000 Jews were kicked out of Arab countries forcibly last century and have no right of return.

Palestinians on the other hand left Israel for a short time while waiting for it to be destroyed by invading armies, before planning to return and claim the whole country for themselves.

Imagine the terrorist sympathisers here took note of your post and told everyone why its OK to dismiss those 900k Jews

They should be allowed free movement within Israel, free to buy their own property and settle where they wish.

Can the Israelis do the same in Syria, Egypt, Jordan and the other places the so called Palestinians originate from?

When did you once criticize them in this thread? Haven't you said that telling only one side of the story is a lefty tactic?

The Israelis were not the aggressors in the latest violence, which this thread was about. Therefore no criticism in this thread. If you read other threads, you will see I am one of few people that will call the Jews out on their dishonest appropriation of anti Semitic status and the dishonest monopoly on tragedy they maintain for own advantage.

Not automatic no, they can be denied for various reasons but they have a route to residency that is denied to Palestinians.

Because the Palestinians are actually from surrounding countries and have residency there.

Not all Palestinians, If Israel offered a path to residency for Palestinians and excluded those with known terrorist links I would have zero issues with it.

There are "Palestinian" citizens in Israel.

Did you miss the part where I clearly said that I had no issue with excluding people with terrorist links? If the applicants pledged to live in Israel peacefully and have no criminal record then what is the issue? Or do you regard every Palestinian as genocidal?

There are Israeli citizens as you describe. Your suggestion is moot.

You don't think killing civilians as part of their bombing campaign is worthy of criticism?
