Tribunal finds ‘downright dishonesty'

“In our view, this transaction is an attempt by an erstwhile monopolist to thwart the beneficial impact of deregulation… for rival managed network service (MNS) providers and… customers. We express concern that the acquisition could have provided Telkom with an unregulated subsidiary, through which it would seek to evade regulation,”

Anybody surprised?

Does the Competition Tribunal not have the ability to put Matthyser behind bars for telling blatant lies under oath? - otherwise Matthyser and the rest of the Telkodemonopolies propagandists simply continue telling lies like they have done for years - here is an opportunity to meter out some bad karma which Matthyser sorely deserves...

The thing is that telling blatant lies under oath in a court of law, is called perjury, and is punishable - unfortunately not by death, surely the Competition Tribunal should lock Matthyser up to teach Matthyser the error of Matthyser's ways - preferably in an overcrowded cell where Matthyser can feel the rape that he has helped to inflict on consumers...

More and more so, in the future, Telkom's past lies and dishonest dealings will come to fruition and lead to the ultimate death of the most dishonest company that we were forced to deal with!

The way they have robbed us to make obscene profits will also lead to another competition board investigation, or Dominic what about a class action against them from the public?

Any ways, whatever they attempt to do in the future, such as tv, will be scrutinised and analysed, leaving them hopelessly incapacitated to deal with future changes in a timely fashion. Maybe they should diversify and start providing legal, marketing research and PR services, since they only appear to have strengths in these areas?

South Africa had enough of this outright dishonest bunch!

Even hardened criminals wouldn't be able to trust Telkodemonopolies' legal department to represent them - Telkodemonopolies threw out the "honour amongst thieves" concept a long time ago and screwing its clients is now genetically entrenched after many experimental evolutions towards this goal.

As for the research, marketing and PR, well that's outsourced to Markinor AFAIK - just down the hall at Telkodemonopolies HQ next to the rubber stamp and network printer used by !CASA and Poison Ivy.

What is required? Does someone have to lay a charge of perjury at a police station, or is it up to the discretion of the arbiter at the Competition Tribunal?

Good question Chiskop.

re: Rickus and Co: Hardly a revelation considering that TELKOM has always been less than forthcoming with the whole truth.

From the snippets of the report it looks as if the CC is even a bit surprised.
