I believe Herman Cain had cancer as well though so not really comparable.
Not quite. He survived stage 4 colon cancer in 2006, he didn't have cancer at the time of his death.

White House Memo Tells Staff: Wear a Mask Near the President, Even if He Isn’t Wearing One

White House staff have reportedly been issued a long list of precautions to take when they come in contact with the infected president—though it’s not clear what precautions he’s personally taking to keep them safe. The New York Times reports that a staff memo titled “Precautions and POTUS Interactions” was sent around this week after President Donald Trump left the hospital just three days into his COVID-19 treatment. People who go into the same space as the president, but not within six feet of him, have been told to wear a “surgical mask” and use hand sanitizer, according to the Times, while those in close contact have been told to wear a “Yellow gown,” “Surgical mask,” “Protective eye wear” and “Gloves.” The memo didn’t say if noted mask-skeptic Trump would be sporting his own protective equipment to minimize the risk of spreading his droplets.

These precautions would have made sense before he became infected:

Mr McConnell, a polio survivor, contrasted the White House with the Senate, where lawmakers are urged to wear masks and social distance.

As many as 34 White House staff and "other contacts" have been recently infected with the virus, an internal federal emergency management memo viewed by ABC News said.

Speaking to reporters in Kentucky, Mr McConnell said he steered clear of the White House in the last two months "because my impression was their approach to how to handle this was different from mine".

He later also noted that he "personally didn't feel that they were approaching the protection from this illness" in the way he felt "was appropriate for the Senate".

While the top Republican has called for masks and distancing, he has stopped short of enacting a mask mandate in the Senate. As the majority leader of the upper chamber, Mr McConnell is responsible for making such rules.

Mr McConnell continued his apparent subtle critique of the White House when he mentioned the struggles of "other places that have had a different view", regarding a different approach to protections.

"And they are, you know, paying the price for it," the top Republican said, adding that the Senate was operating normally thanks to its Covid-19 precautions.

Mr McConnell also emphasised mask-wearing and social distancing were the best way to combat the virus until a vaccine is available.

Dunno why they didn't mention this in the article but even though the drug was developed using fetal cells it is not produced that way. They use mice engineered to have human immune systems to create the antibodies.

Seems like something they should have included if only to preemptively ward of the crazies who will inevitably announce that trump was injected with aborted fetuses...
