Is it worth fixing up a old vhs machine?
Or better to just get a DVD recorder nowadays?

As the previous poster commented, depends on what all your media is on. I actually got my VHS semi working again, after a few hours of "fiddling" but found that it was very tape dependent, some worked, others not, and this even applied to tapes that have been safely stored for a few years.
Reminded me of a project I did about three years ago when I started copying my vast collection of 4-track music tapes onto a HDD drive. The degradation on some of those tapes made recovery impossible. That is the problem in the long term, tapes degrade!!

Where did you find this video, or how did you.

Saw it on FB a while back. Been buying broken and cheap VHS from Cash Converters/Crusaders ever since. Been making BANK!!! Anybody wanna by an iPod? Portable DVD player?
