The mayor has also has also banned blue lights for politicians and officials in Tshwane, including on the mayor’s own vehicle.

Yet I saw a blue light brigade WITH TMPD escort on Saturday going East on Garsfontein...

It was probably a national government minister not local government.

Nice, especially the giving of the vehicles to an anti-hijack unit.

Have I understood wrong then? How I understand it is that blue lights are banned in the region of Tshwane, not that employees/representatives of CoT have been banned using blue lights?

Don't think provincial government can prescribe what national government does.

Action! What a welcome breath of fresh air!

According to an article in the local Newspaper, he has banned blue light brigades for Tshwane Officials, but that he is having some difficulty in getting the ban extended to National Government Officials. ...

As far as his decision on cars! Excellent! Setting a new example, returning to some of the old values that were in place before 1994.

Looking forward to his expose of the mess that has been made of the Town Hall ...... and how it will be fixed. I certainly hope that he is able to get a case going where the guilty parties are expected to "pay back the money".

TMPD on bikes or cars?

If bikes, that's how mr Zuma rolled previously...

Likely a JZ

Was 2 bikes, a Q7 and a black sedan, don't think Zuma would travel like such a peasant.

They did it in Cape Town? No one is allowed blue lights there except Zoomzoom. Quite easy to do, bar the police from providing escort and arrest anyone who has a blue light.

That makes sense.
