Eskom makes R6.7-billion payment plan for South African capital

The City of Tshwane has signed a payment plan to settle its nearly R6.7 billion debt to Eskom, the state-owned power utility has announced.

Eskom had taken the municipality to court over its bulk arrears debt, but the two parties met before the hearings and agreed to a five-year payment arrangement plan.

I thought they were disputing the amounts owed?

Good. A little at a time. They better stick to the payment plan.

Is it just me or does this work out to over R20bn? That's a massive amount of interest.

All I hear is 💩, 💩, 💩. 💩 government, incompetent 💩heads that talk 💩 for a living, and get paid from our sweat, while lying to us and giving us 💩 and 💩 excuses.

Only a 30%er would not understand that has absolutely nothing to do with the Eskom debt.
Ohhhhh sorry, I wasn't aware that Tshwane debt was specifically ringfenced

No getting away from this one. No spin to be had. Numbers sure can be pesky, hey!

Always those numbers getting in the way. No wonder they want to remove them from the school curriculum and make some alternative version of history compulsory.

Rather worship ancestors in a cave.
Far easier than studying mathematics.
