In terms of the Rationalisation of Local Government Affairs Act, as things stand, residents must re-apply for approval of a gated community every two years.

The draft policy calls for renewal after the initial two years, thereafter there is more discretion on behalf of the Metro how long it can go for. This may be a good idea. I see what some people stated in their applications for closure vs. what they actually did.

Yes, and indeed.

The African mentality is that nobody should stand out, nobody should better themselves in such a way that they stand out from the masses.
If they do, they must be brought down to the level of the lowest common denominator.

I say let them try, we'll take them to court and we'll win, again.
It's sad, but when morons are in charge, it's the courts that actually govern..
When you're done with your rant, check who governs the city.

If I recollect, he was darling for a while; what happened? I admit I haven't read news much - did he perhaps do a Lesufi?

He's not very pro the right to own firearms (in a country with one of the highest murder rates in the world), so that's a negative right there.

Tshwane, jsut take the gates away and give nothing, since stokstert wants to be whiny.
I am not whiny but sarcastic that 2 cars per suburb would make no difference as they are ineffective and just parasitic on the taxpayer.
