Tuna

No, I just have some weird cravings and taste combinations at times. It actually tastes very good, provided you like chutney. ;)

I like chutney, cheese and tuna. I also like turbot, chocolate cake and english muffins, but I definitely won't be mixing them together any time soon...:D

Well, I wouldn't mix all those together either. :)

The chutney/tuna combination is actually worth a try if you are feeling adventurous. Kinda like mixing Marmite and Golden Syrup...

I can imagine the similarities in taste...

Good lawdie crusader - I had you pegged as a normal bloke up until now...:D

I am a normal bloke. You just don't know what taste sensations you are missing out on!

I'll make a tuna bake the lazy way. Just cook some macaroni and drain. Empty a couple of tins of tuna and mix in well Get a couple of cans of mushroom soup -open and pour over. Sprinkle top with grated cheese and breadcrumbs and oven bake to golden.

Nope, sorry, that does not sound good.

It makes me think of a recipe one of my school friends had us make ... also tuna and pasta, but topped with a crust made out of beef flavoured Simba chips.
It was ewww, but we were on a shoestring budget.

Is your issue the cheese and breadcrumb topping (which is common, and delicious)?

My issue is the chips forming the crust on top!!

No man - I'm referring to hosehead's recipe which you said you didn't care for. You then discussed the topping of another dish so I can only infer that you have an issue with hosehead's topping...

The combination of all his ingredients just sounds off to me. Maybe it's my tastebuds !

I think you have psychological problems but nevermind.

The real comforting part of life is that NOBODY is 100% sane ;)

I gave up tuna since it is endangered. You guys enjoy the last one!

The Tuna you'll find in your can will be either Albacore(longfin) or Skipjack - Not Med caught Bluefin:)

Those are not always best choice either, depends where they were caught, and what methods were used. Longline fishing has some pretty bad side effects. Then there's also the high mercury content in most tuna.

Of course. I don't like the combination of tastes, that's all ...
Well then you haven't had a proper tuna bake and seasoned correctly. You can use all kinds of accompaniments from mild to wild.
I go nuts with the tobasco habanero and sometimes Mrs. Balls chili chuntney.
This is about the only thing I cook that comes out of both packets and cans.
It comes in handy on nights like tonight when I have 20 liters of Veal Stock bubbling away outside.
