What threats of war or sanctions have been placed on Russia for involvement in Syria?
Go ask Mueller, or are you under the mistaken impression that the Russian election hoax has anything at all to do with their non-involvement in the US election rather than serving as a believable scapegoat and having just demonstrated they can go toe-to-toe with the US in geopolitics ... such ... as ... Syria

I don't think Ukraine ever agreed to give up the entire Crimea to Russia at any stage...
Certainly not, then again, Ukraine also never said they will flip 180 degrees on pro-Russia deals, or allow western warmongers to stage Euromaidan and execute dozens of people in Kiev in order to blame Russia. Many things never agreed to transpired, Russia took the initiative and moved in with strength while everyone was occupied separating their own asses from elbows ...

Big win for Putin. Donnie delivers again.

Russia and Turkey announced an agreement Tuesday to jointly patrol almost the entire northeastern Syrian border after the withdrawal of Kurdish fighters, cementing the two countries’ power in Syria in the wake of President Donald Trump’s abrupt withdrawal of U.S. forces.

I don't know much about all the international politics, but Putin does seem to school the USA.

Then again, with Trump at the helm, I think Lesotho could school the USA today.

Not hugely surprising in the bigger picture, as Russia and Turkey are neighbours , plus Turkey makes a boatload of money off Russian tourism as it is, so they arent going to want to jeopardise a given money stream.

Big win for the US, why would they want to police the Syrian border?
I see you do not know much about Geopolitics ( or Geography or History )

How many WARM water ports ( ALL year round ) do the Russians [NAVY] control ?

WHERE is Turkey geographically ?

Ever heard of the Bosphorus

As maritime waterways, the Turkish Straits connect various seas along the Eastern Mediterranean, the Balkans, the Near East, and Western Eurasia. Specifically, the Straits allows maritime connections from the Black Sea all the way to the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas, the Atlantic Ocean via Gibraltar, and the Indian Ocean through the Suez Canal, making them crucial international waterways, in particular for the passage of goods coming in from Russia.

Turkish Straits

The Turkish Straits crisis was a Cold War-era territorial conflict between the Soviet Union and Turkey. Turkey had remained officially neutral throughout most of the Second World War. When the war ended, Turkey was pressured by the Soviet government to allow Soviet shipping to flow freely through the Turkish Straits, which connected the Black Sea to the Mediterranean. As the Turkish government would not submit to the Soviet Union's requests, tensions arose in the region, leading to a Soviet show of naval force. The incident would later serve as a deciding factor in the issuing of the Truman Doctrine.[2] At its climax, the tensions would cause Turkey to turn to the United States for protection and NATO for membership.

Turkish Straits crisis

He has been watching boats on the Bosphorus strait for two decades; but, until recently, it had been years since Serhat Guvenc had glimpsed a Russian warship. Common in the Cold War era and again during the Balkans conflict, they had become a rare sight on the mighty waterway that transects the ancient city of Istanbul and separates Europe from Asia.

Now, barely a day goes by when the academic and amateur ship-spotter fails to catch sight of a Russian missile cruiser, landing ship or submarine. They goad Turkey by sailing through the heart of its biggest city to supply the conflict in Syria. “It’s like rubbing salt on an open wound,” Mr Guvenc says.

Turkey and Russia have supported opposing sides in the Syrian conflict since the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad began in 2011. Since November, when Turkey shot down a Russian Sukhoi-24 jet, the relationship has teetered on the brink of all-out war. But thanks to a 1930s treaty, in peace time foreign states “enjoy the freedom” to send military and commercial ships from the Black Sea down to the Mediterranean.

Russian warships and naval assets sailing through Bosphorus strait has Turkey frightened

---------------------------------

My guess is that the KURDS have been sacrificed by ALL parties for various advantages

SYRIA -- to consolidate the country and get rid of the Kurds

RUSSIA -- to allow PUTIN free access to these critical waterways

USA -- to keep NUKES in Turkey

Poor Kurds -- they should ALL emmigrate to sunny SA ......

The WEST is slowly allowing itself to be surrounded
The War of the Atlantic will be as NOTHING compared to what is coming !

Ja the idea that the US should police the whole world and contain the Russian thread is outdated. Russia is no longer the communist threat it used to be, they can have their few port/s and be a regional power without threatening the US or Europe. It will actually be good for the US if Russia get bogged down in the endless wars of the middle east.

I can see quite clearly you know squat about PUTIN
and
The NEW Russia

Russia no longer "communist" -- just like CHINA ?
Do you think that whether they are "communist"--or -- not // changes GEOPOLITICAL CONSTANTS ?
Changes the need for trade and resources
Changes the desire for -- TERRITORIAL EXPANSION

HOW did Britain maintain a GLOBAL EMPIRE ?
BRITANNIA -- RULES -- the WAVES ...........

1. When Britain first, at Heaven’s command
Arose from out the azure main;
This was the charter of the land,
And guardian angels sang this strain:
“Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
“Britons never will be slaves.”

2. The nations, not so blest as thee,
Must, in their turns, to tyrants fall;
While thou shalt flourish great and free,
The dread and envy of them all.
“Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
“Britons never will be slaves.”

3. Still more majestic shalt thou rise,
More dreadful, from each foreign stroke;
As the loud blast that tears the skies,
Serves but to root thy native oak.
“Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
“Britons never will be slaves.”

4. Thee haughty tyrants ne’er shall tame:
All their attempts to bend thee down,
Will but arouse thy generous flame;
But work their woe, and thy renown.
“Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
“Britons never will be slaves.”

5. To thee belongs the rural reign;
Thy cities shall with commerce shine:
All thine shall be the subject main,
And every shore it circles thine.
“Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
“Britons never will be slaves.”

6. The Muses, still with freedom found,
Shall to thy happy coast repair; Blest Isle!
With matchless beauty crown’d,
And manly hearts to guard the fair.
“Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
“Britons never will be slaves.”

Unfortunately these days they cannot even rule -- BREXIT

The WEST is slowly allowing itself to be surrounded

WATCH: Hypersonic Russian bombers land at Waterkloof

Come the last week in November, SA Navy fleet headquarters at Simon’s Town will be a hive of activity as three navies prepare for a multi-national naval exercise.

South Africa’s maritime service will – for the first time – host the Chinese and Russian navies. According to the SA National Defence Force (SANDF) Directorate: Corporate Communications, the exercise will focus on “maritime economy, inter-operability and mending (sic) relations between participating navies”.

First Russo/Sino/SA naval exercise set for November

I suggest the -- "Orange Man" -- FESS UP and QUICK ..........

Peaceful, respectable progressive....

Left-wing actress and singer Bette Midler on Wednesday lashed out at Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) over his criticism of the Kurds by lauding his neighbor who brutally beat the senator, breaking several of his ribs in his Kentucky yard in 2017

“I DO NOT promote violence but… Rand Paul says the Kurds are being ‘ingrates’ for taking their frustrations out on US troops. Which is a good reminder for us all to be more grateful for the neighbor who beat the **** out of Rand Paul,” Bette Midler said.

Midler faced blowback in June over a deleted tweet in which she fantasized about President Trump being stabbed to death. Last year, the Hollywood leftist said she hoped to watch the president’s funeral on television and expressed her desire to see him and his entire family hanged.
