So no green light given? Dishonest as I said

lol, he's on a call with Erdogan, releases a statement shortly after indicating Turkey will be moving in and the US won't stand in the way, leading them to abandon and bomb their own base, and Russian soldiers and TV crews arrive inside aforementioned hastily abandoned base shorty after.

Bit desperate, Pitbull.

Will be interesting to see how that pans out in reality for the Kurds. Assad and the Russians certainly achieved their objectives and in no small part thanks to Turkey. Any agreement going forward will certainly be more favourable to Turkey, Assad and Russia.

And Iran.

The deal delivered Erdogan concessions he had been unable to win during years of negotiations with the US. The Turkish side was surprised at how easy the negotiations were: “We got everything we wanted”

1. Clear the way for the attack, leading Turkey to invade and start massacring Kurds
2. Bomb your own military installations, after quickly abandoning them
3. Have Russian soldiers film propaganda from inside your abandoned facilities
3. Weakly threaten sanctions for some reason after having your empty threats ignored
4. Don't actually implement sanctions
5. Capitulate completely during 'negotiations', gloss over ethnic cleansing
6. Hand Erdogan everything on a silver platter during aforementioned 'negotiations'
7. Deliver victories for Erdogan, Putin, Assad and Khamenei
8. ????
9. Claim great success

So he's on a phone call with Erdogan, then immediately afterward sends out a statement saying the US is withdrawing from that area and that Turkey are moving ahead with a military operation?

That absolutely is a green light. Stop being so dishonest, Pitbull.

Please go and read what "giving a green light means". But I know you're not a moron so dishonest it is then...

Putin is a master puppeteer. He plays these games at a level nobody is willing or able to match. Cannot trust him while looking at him.
Putin is probably to blame for the entire migrant crisis in Europe. The EU were moving to get closer ties to Ukraine, in hopes of getting cheaper labour for Germany but Putin put the stop to it. This led Merkel get desperate and try to take in a million Syrian Refugees.

The US pulled the troops out of Syria to pull America out of the forever wars of the Middle East.

Those troops have now been redeployed to ... Western Iraq.

France’s president on Friday decried NATO’s inability to react to what he called Turkey’s “crazy” offensive into northern Syria and said it was time Europe stopped acting like a junior ally when it came to the Middle East.

So Russia goes into a non-NATO contry and NATO goes nuts and threatens war, while the EU sets up all sorts of sanctions.
A NATO country goes into a non-NATO country and NATO cannot do anything other than a few press releases while the EU sits idly by.

F#$%ing Hypocrites

So Russia gets invited by a sovereign non-NATO contry and NATO goes nuts and threatens war, while the EU sets up all sorts of sanctions.
A NATO country goes into a non-NATO country and NATO cannot do anything other than a few press releases while the EU sits idly by. Probably because every other NATO member was bombing the shyte out of Syria in acts of war to date.

I think the first non-Nato country being referred to there is Ukraine, Russia weren't invited in...
you might want to check the title of this thread, this is Syria, Russia most definitely was invited to Syria by the only sovereign, non terrorist organization, around

everyone else has been committing acts of war unilaterally

oh and about that Ukraine thing ... Russia had guaranteed access to Crimea by way of treaty, her permanent naval base didn't just magically teleport out of thin air, Ukraine agreed for decades to give Russia military access to Crimea

the rest, as they say, is history

What threats of war or sanctions have been placed on Russia for involvement in Syria?

You do realise other posters just might also discuss other countries in this thread?

I don't think Ukraine ever agreed to give up the entire Crimea to Russia at any stage...
