If I fit a headlight unit and rear/brake lights, indicators, mirrors and a speedo, And if I could squeeze a battery into a pit bike. Would I be able to register it and have it on the road legally?

It seems to be popular in the UK, just wondering if it will be allowed in SA?

Pit bike that is at least 50cc? Otherwise you are going to have trouble.

And I'm not even sure you can legally get a 50cc road bike any more, it might have to be 125cc now.

But if it doesn't have engine and frame numbers you are buggered anyway.

Will probably cost you less to just buy a road version anyway.

I have a 160 cc pitbike. I'm thinking of doing a little project, on weekends. The bike has the engine number and chassis number.
I have 2 roadbikes, so not looking to buy another one. I have a pitbike that just stands in the garage gathering dust. So this would just be for fun.

Should be possible, there's a company that has a few branches around the country called startline will find the link when I get home. They have a huge offering of parts. I have used them when I needed parts for my old Suzuki

then it probably shouldn't be too much drama, especially if it's a fun project for you.
