Turning your home wireless?

so i was browsing and i came across something that said you would be able to control your bedrooms lights with a tablet over wifi? can this be done and what else would one be able to control? is there a SA shop for such products?

Been around long before iPads were a twinkle in SJ's eye. I've always wanted to do this. I think they (modules) aren't that cheap. Comms over your electricals... nice idea.

They even have a barking dog security unit lol. I like the Cam + spots + motion sensor.

A few such home automation products that grant that capability to interface with the security/lights/multimedia systems all over the house Control4 is the last one i've gotten to test

the x10 stuff looks like u haveto buy their control etc andits mostly timer stuff, im looking vor things that i wil be able tocontrol from my samsung gt 7500.

Psywulf does that work with android and does it work over wifi? anc where can i see more details about it ie price, where to buy etc

You can do this in different ways. You can use the X10 hardware with compatible software like Homeseer(bit expensive) and install that on your pc at home. They have an app on the Android market called HSTouch that will then connect through the internet or internal Wifi to your homeseer server.

You can also use a new technology called Z-Wave, much more reliable than X-10 as it's a mesh networking protocol and wireless, bit more expensive though but it's got 2 way communications. You can still use the Homeseer software or you can use a Micasa Vera2 Z-Wave controller(device and software built-in,so no need for a pc) and they also have a web interface and app for Android, iPhone.
