I am in the market for a new TV - budget is about R10k.
I have not kept up to date with whats great these days, any suggestions on what to look out for, or any recommendations? With my budget in mind, what size should i be looking at?
You're probably looking at a 50-55" entry level 4k TV.

My pick would probably be the LG. It has 4 HDMI HDCP 2.2 ports (required for HDR), whereas the Samsung only has 1 as far as I know. Not sure about the Hisense.
Also it comes with WebOS 3.0 which IMO is by far the best TV OS...
It's a normal HDMI port but version 2.2 which supports higher frame rates and HDR input.I have no idea what this is??
***** - didnt even know TV's have different OS's which needed to be evaluated - thing are not simple any more hey
It's Chinese but they have a factory in SA, Cape Town where they manufacture their Tv's. The are alot of review's online about the Hisense TVs so easy to compare them to other TVsGreat. Will read up on this.
I see peeps recommending hisense - back in the day, you would only buy a japanese or korean made TV - no sure about the hisense brand
Any advice on +- 15k TVs?
Now you going into proper high-end tv's with proper HDR
Hisense M7000 ULED(2016 model) - 55inch for R12000 - Dion Wired
LG SJ800 Super UHD Nano Cell - 60 inch for R17000 - https://www.hirschs.co.za/tele-audio/tvs/lg-led-nano-cell-display-60sj800?___SID=U
LG UH770 Super UHD(2016 Model) - 55inch for R15000 - Dion Wired
There's also a HiSense 58 smart uhd R10 999
The MU7000 and M5010 both don't do proper HDR so you have to base byour desicion on picture quality and UII am also in the market for a new TV(4k) and have been shopping/researching for the past month or so.
The 58'' HiSense looks really nice when you stand in front of it and Makro has them on special for R9999, but searching for specs online you can't really fine decent specs or reviews. Think the TV is discontinued.
I am looking at the following: (55")
Samsung MU7000
HiSense M5010
I can't make my mind up, think Black Friday will.
Refer to the LG UJ670 posted above.I am also in the market for a new TV(4k) and have been shopping/researching for the past month or so.

I wouldn't call R15k high end these days for TV, that's mid-range![]()
You might be able to get 2016 SUHD TV on black Friday from Hirsch's, last year they had one for R13000 down from R20000Do you recommend any Samsungs close to that sort of budget with better HDR? I had my heart set on a MU7000. I just assumed it's performance was about as good as it gets for a normal LED backlit display. I see sources are saying that it's slightly worse than the previous year model :/
Wait for BF. I think you'll get a sweet 60 for R10k.Thinking of getting this one . Perfect size for me. 55 too small(ish) , 65 is overkill.
Any personal review on it ?
