TV series on ShowMax for South Africa revealed

pretty lame selection but for those who aren't up to date, it's not a bad price to pay I suppose
 
Just download the app and you can see all movies and series listed.

Not all of us are on the bleeding edge of all 100+ series under the sun waiting to click play tomorrow night on the anticipated pre-release leaked episodes :p
 
Hmmm, Season 8 of Big Bang Theory is finished broadcasting in the US. According to this article, Showmax only has up to season 7. Never tried Netflix, so not sure if this is the norm, but I was hoping for a more legal way of watching the latest content instead of a more legal way to binge watch older content. Also, was hoping they managed to find a way to get this on Apple TV given that Apple appears to be actively looking for content.

Netflix doesn't even have BBT as far as I know :( too many sales on DVD's.

I think Hulu might have it but not sure.
 
Think I checked both for BTT and neither had at the time. Something about the director not liking streaming services
 
This will run on the same model as Netflix, ie show content that is available at the DVD rental stores. For up to date content you will have to pay more, or be like Hulu and show ads.

The selection actually looks decent for the series, not too worried about streaming movies. This will be a nice legal alternative if you don't mind funding Naspers.
 
It's definitely better than the launch of other SA streaming services and it has a lot of old gold to watch that you can't even find on Netflix or Hulu, but it will take some time for them to build up a big library.

A bunch of gold HBO shows you can't find streaming except by paying for HBO Now.

How ironical - the Chuck Lorre produces a successful TV series about uber-geeks at the bleeding edge of science and technology, but he does not like streaming TV! I guess he prefers torrents then...

Netflix has seasons 1-7 currently - I expect series 8 when the new season starts.
 
Where's the Apple TV app?

I wanna watch Vetkoek Paleis.
