At this point, Twitter is more like Elon Musk's version of the Howard Stern show.

Love him or hate him, people are tuning in just to see what he says (or does) next.

(BTW: That doesn't mean Twitter is dead long-term. Just opining on why the Bird is seeing a surge in daily active users.)
Yeah, while people are there they need to mind the bird feces

The best way to get rid of staff without having to pay them a single cent when they quit......:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:
According to that report, the employees will get severance pay, not sure where you are getting "without having to pay them a single cent" from.

Like with most things Elon has accomplished, no-one has the balls to make this kind of move.

The guy works fast.
No 3000 hours of meetings and lengthy project plans.

Jus steps in. Checks what he needs for BAU. Sees if any projects are worthwhile. Cans the idiot leftists who don't want to work.

Reshuffles left-overs to make sure BAU is ok, new CEO can come in and start new projects as needed.

It would take years to get that done in a SA company with that amount of staff.

It's in the first paragraph of the thread.

Twitter Inc. on Thursday announced it was temporarily closing its offices after Elon Musk issued employees an ultimatum: Stay with the company “working long hours at high intensity” or quit with three months’ severance pay.

He is doing a great thing by flushing out wokerati's. Likes of Jesus, Galileo, MLK, Mandela went through tough times but history remembers great men of their calibre.
Mandela and MLK would definitely be considered woke if the word was around back then

Big difference between people resigning and being retrenched in terms of company obligations.

How is it not a positive? He now gets to hand-pick every single staff member, and he is no stranger to start-up mode. Skilled and talented young people will be breaking the doors down to get a job at twitter.

All he needs to do is a full-blown deep sanitisation of the offices first.

On his own obviously

Bro, Abraham Lincoln would be considered woke for ending slavery....
He would be a hero to mybroederbanders though.

Publicly, Lincoln said he was not advocating Negro suffrage in speeches both in Columbus, Ohio, on September 16, 1859,[49]: d  and in Charleston, Illinois, on September 18, 1858, stating on the latter date:

I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races [applause]—that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people;
