Not a Musk fan, but I think this is planned, even if a bit chaotic . Clear the company, have people that WANT to WORK at twitter return/stay. Hire the fan boys to fill the gap. A clear the decks and rebuild strategy, but quickly and with optimal drama.

Guys a d!ck but he's been doing this for long enough to know what works.

Begging engineers to come back was planned?

Dude is a "fly by the seat of your pants" kind of guy. This was as unplanned as it looks.

So this article would support your point, but think of it like this: He's only having to ask the people he wants to stay. Most of the remaining dead weight are gone. What it looks like on the outside, and what media is spinning may be totally different from what's strategically happening on the inside.

Put in a different way. A business man worth many b/millions of dollars, running multiple companies successfully, suddenly screws the pooch on a multi billion deal? I believe cooperate greed usually stuffs up AFTER they've taken their cut, and even then it's the bag men who take the hit.

I'll put it to you this way. Elon Musk is an extremely risky player.

He has risked losing his entire fortune several times now. Man goes all-in and nearly took both SpaceX and Tesla into the brink several times by being super risky.

Wouldn't mind a portion of his fortune though

Money cannot give you more than a certain amount of happiness. If you have a place to live, 3 meals per day and clothes then it's all you need to be happy. Most happiness comes from within.

Happiness increases in miniscule amounts with more money. It also brings more problems into your life because you have to stress about maintaining your standard of living.

Big difference between people resigning and being retrenched in terms of company obligations.
In South Africa yes. In the USA, or more specifically Twitter, what is the difference? Packages on offer look the same as those received by staff that were retrenched / dismissed earlier.

But since you're insisting on your strawman, twitter past was completely overstaffed, and even after purging half of them, Musk realised that the balance that he was left with were a motely crew of low energy-level wokists who insisted on free caffeteria meals, and left-winged saboteurs. With this move he has achieved something that Andre de Ruyter can only dream about.
So you’ve personally vetted all these employees that aren’t taking his ****? or is it easier to just label people who don’t simp for Elon as leftist and wokist.

More likely he is trying to get back anybody who might know something about the systems and software. Typically what happens when you threaten and bully people is that the top tier people walk because they can get another job before they even reach the pavement. Those who stay aren't the best people, but the ones who aren't sure they can get hired anywhere else. But maybe Twitter really is packed with smart people who couldn't wait to work excessively long hours for a rich bully.

The way he has structured this deal a serious chunk of the hit is going to be taken by Twitter.
